Foreign Ministry: Knesset's call to annex the West Bank is a new declaration of war against our people and another face of genocide and displacement crimes

SadaNews - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has requested its ambassadors in all countries, the United Nations, and its various bodies and organizations to take immediate action towards foreign ministries, decision-making centers, and public opinion to explain and expose the Israeli Knesset's call to implement what is called (sovereignty) over the occupied West Bank and the implications of its annexation on the prospects of applying the two-state solution and the security and stability of the region and the world.

The ministry clarified, in a statement today, Thursday, that it has asked its ambassadors and their organizations to urge countries and demand the importance of immediate recognition of the State of Palestine and to enable it to gain full membership in the United Nations and enforce peace on the occupying state in accordance with international law and international legitimacy resolutions and the advisory opinion issued by the International Court of Justice.

The ministry considers this call to be a new declaration of war against the Palestinian people and another aspect of genocide, displacement, and annexation crimes aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause and undermining the international consensus on the strategic necessities for realizing the Palestinian state on the ground with its capital in East Jerusalem.

The ministry also views this call as distinctly colonial and racist, and an official Israeli acknowledgment of the objectives of genocide crimes, reinforcing the separation between the West Bank and Gaza Strip, and providing further evidence of the impotence of continuing to direct international appeals and demands toward the occupying state, as well as the superficiality of wagering on the chance for it to retreat from its expansionist colonial plans, unless the international consensus on implementing the two-state solution is linked to international sanctions and deterrent measures that compel the Israeli government to stop all forms of its crimes against our people and recognize their legitimate national rights.
