"Obama" Rejects "Trump"'s Accusations of Treason and Conspiracy

SadaNews - Barack Obama rejected Donald Trump's accusations of "treason" and "conspiracy," in response to the American president's claims that his predecessor orchestrated a "coup" by fabricating evidence of Russian interference in the 2016 elections..

Obama's rejection came in an official statement issued by his office on Tuesday, which deemed these accusations "ridiculous and a weak attempt at distraction."

The statement confirmed that "the conclusions reached by intelligence agencies regarding Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential elections remain valid," pointing out that they were supported by a Senate Intelligence Committee report in 2020 chaired by Senator Marco Rubio.

The response followed Trump's remarks during his meeting with Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., in which he accused Obama of trying to "lead a coup" and committing "high treason."

Trump responded to a question about who should be the target of the proposed criminal investigation in the report by National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard, stating that "President Obama is the initiator, and Joe Biden was with him, along with James Comey and James Clapper."

Trump described the documents provided as "conclusive evidence" that Obama "led a conspiracy" with Hillary Clinton and others "to try to steal the election."

For her part, Gabbard accused national security officials from the Obama era of conspiring, but previous intelligence analyses confirmed that Russia did not succeed in changing the election results despite its attempts to influence them. The findings were previously supported by the 2019 report from Special Counsel Robert Mueller and the Senate Intelligence Committee report.

Former intelligence analyst Fulton Armstrong commented on Gabbard's report by saying that it was "written with a preconceived conclusion," and criticized her use of the term "deep state," describing it as "unprofessional" language.

He noted that the report relied on "poor precedents" and muddled concepts to support its narrative, asserting that the Russian interference issue is complex and involves diverse analyses that are difficult to condense into 11 pages.

It is worth noting that Trump referred during his remarks to additional documents that Gabbard promised to provide, in a comment that seems directed at his supporters to distract from calls for the release of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein.
