Iran agrees to hold a new round of negotiations
SadaNews - Ismail Baqaei, the spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, announced that Tehran has agreed to hold a new round of nuclear negotiations at the request of Germany, France, and Britain.
Baqaei's statements came in response to a question from Iranian journalists regarding the upcoming discussions between the two sides about the nuclear file. The Iranian Foreign Minister clarified that the talks will take place on Friday at the level of deputy foreign ministers, with the participation of Majid Takht-Ravanchi and Kazem Gharibabadi, in Istanbul, Turkey.
The subject of the discussions between Iran and the three European countries is the Iranian nuclear program.
In the fourteenth Iranian government, four rounds of negotiations with the three European states that are parties to the nuclear agreement (France, Britain, and Germany) have been held so far in New York, Geneva, Istanbul, and Geneva.
Negotiations between Iran and Europe are being conducted separately from the indirect negotiations with the United States.
It is worth noting that the three European countries were parties to the agreement on the Iranian nuclear program that was established in 2015, which collapsed after the United States withdrew from it in 2018.
In June, leaders of the "troika" called on Iran not to undertake any actions that might "destabilize" the region following the U.S. strike on nuclear facilities in Iran.
