What are the Cosmetic Benefits of Sesame Oil for the Skin
SadaNews - Sesame oil is considered an anti-aging ingredient, as it helps to moisturize the skin and renew its cells, in addition to smoothing out lines and wrinkles.
Sesame is known to be the first oilseed plant that humans extracted oil from since prehistoric times. Its original habitat is in Africa and South Asia. It was initially used for its nutritional and therapeutic benefits, especially since it is good for the heart.
Then its cosmetic properties were discovered, which include the following:
• Moisturizing the skin and helping to prevent the dryness of facial and body skin.
• Speeding up the healing of wounds and treating sunburns.
• Acting as a natural sunscreen that provides protection from ultraviolet rays.
• Providing protection against signs of aging, as it works to tighten the skin and protect it from sagging.
• Evening out skin tone and lightening dark spots, in addition to reducing acne severity and addressing other skin problems such as eczema and psoriasis.
Its Ingredients and Features
Cold-pressed sesame oil, used in the cosmetic field, is rich in proteins, vitamins (B and E), and minerals (iron, copper, zinc, calcium, and magnesium...). It can be mixed with other oils such as olive oil, almond oil, or castor oil, and the mixture can be used to wipe the facial skin in the evening after thoroughly cleaning it from makeup residues and dust and pollution.
• To cleanse the skin of toxins:
It is recommended to mix half a cup of sesame oil with an equal amount of apple cider vinegar and a quarter cup of water. A small amount of this mixture is used on a cotton pad on clean skin every night before bed, as it helps to deeply cleanse the skin and rid it of toxins.
• For exfoliating the skin:
It is recommended to mix one tablespoon of sesame oil with the same amount of brown sugar, and to gently massage the skin in circular motions with this mixture for two minutes before rinsing the face with lukewarm water. This mixture, when used once a week, works to exfoliate the skin and remove the dead cells that accumulate on its surface.
• For moisturizing the skin:
It is recommended to mix one tablespoon of sesame oil with an equal amount of lemon juice. The mixture is applied to the facial skin and left on for about 20 minutes before rinsing with lukewarm water. This mask, when used three times a week, helps moisturize the skin and even out its tone.
• For lightening the skin:
It is recommended to mix one tablespoon of sesame oil with the same amount of rice flour. This mixture is applied to the face and left for about 15 minutes before rinsing thoroughly. To achieve the desired results, this mask should be used three times a week.
