SadaNews - The Palestinian Vice President, Hussein Sheikh, received in his office in Ramallah a delegation from the European Union Border Assistance Mission, represented by Ms. Natalia Abu Stulolfa, Head of the EU Border Assistance Mission, Stefano Tomat, Civil Operations Commander at the mission's headquarters in Brussels, and Alexander Stutzman, EU Representative in Palestine, along with their accompanying delegation. This was in the presence of the Head of the Civil Affairs Authority, Ayman Qandeel, and the Director General of the General Administration for Crossings and Borders, Nazmi Mahna.
Sheikh learned from the delegation about the serious challenges facing the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, amid ongoing famine and the deterioration of the humanitarian situation due to the ongoing war. The two sides discussed ways to enhance international efforts to ensure that this aid reaches urgently, safely, and regularly.
Sheikh praised the important role played by the EU mission in Rafah, especially in training the staff working at the crossings, developing their professional capabilities, and facilitating the entry of humanitarian assistance.
