"Amnesty International" Accuses Israel of Exploiting Starvation to Commit "Genocide" in Gaza
SadaNews - Amnesty International has accused a controversial aid distribution system in the Gaza Strip, supported by Israel and the United States, of using starvation tactics against Palestinians to continue committing genocide in Gaza during the war being waged by Israel against "Hamas."
According to the German News Agency, the UK-based human rights organization issued a report on Thursday condemning Israel and the "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation" backed by the U.S. and Israel, for being responsible for distributing aid in Gaza through a network led by the United Nations.
The Gaza Health Ministry claims that over 500 Palestinians have been martyred at or near distribution centers run by the "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation" in the past month.
Private security companies are guarding these centers, which are located near Israeli military sites. Palestinian officials and eyewitnesses have accused Israeli forces of firing at crowds of individuals moving near these sites.
The organization's report indicated that Israel has "turned aid requests into a trap for desperate starving Palestinians" through the military "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation," adding that these conditions have resulted in a "lethal mix of hunger and disease, pushing the population to the brink of collapse."
Agnès Callamard, the organization's secretary-general, stated: "This daily horrific loss of life, as desperate Palestinians try to access aid, is the result of their deliberate targeting by Israeli forces and the predictable outcome of irresponsible and deadly distribution methods."
For his part, the Israeli foreign minister condemned the Amnesty International report, claiming that it "has allied with (Hamas) and adopted all of its propaganda lies."
The Israeli army says it fired warning shots to control the crowds, asserting it only shoots at individuals who "act suspiciously," according to their claims.
