Waqf: Occupation Stormed Al-Aqsa 25 Times and Prevented Adhan at the Ibrahimi Mosque 89 Times During June

SadaNews - The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs stated in its monthly report that the Israeli occupation has escalated its violations against Islamic and Christian sanctities during the month of June, primarily targeting the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Ibrahimi Mosque.

The report indicated that the occupation and its settlers executed more than 25 incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque, during which they performed Jewish rituals, in addition to closing the mosque 11 times and preventing worshippers from entering under the pretext of "security situation", alongside restricting the number of worshippers inside the mosque and imposing dangerous Judaization measures on the Old City and the Dome of the Rock prayer area.

The report noted that thousands of worshippers performed the Eid al-Adha prayer at Al-Aqsa Mosque amidst strict restrictions, while occupation soldiers and settlers stormed the courtyards of the Dome of the Rock during the prayer, with settlers performing public rituals of singing, dancing, and clapping.

Regarding the Ibrahimi Mosque, the occupation authorities prevented the adhan from being called 89 times during June and closed it to worshippers and visitors for 12 consecutive days, also refusing to hand it over during Eid al-Adha and the anniversary of the Prophet's migration.

The report also documented the installation of alarm devices by the occupation in the hallways of the mosque, the presence of several of its soldiers on its roof, in addition to illuminating its walls with Israeli flags, closing its eastern door, and forcefully lighting the surrounding area.

The Ministry of Endowments confirmed that these measures represent a blatant violation of its authority, an encroachment on the sanctity of the Ibrahimi Mosque, a provocation to the feelings of Muslims, and an attempt to impose temporal and spatial division on it.

In this context, the report documented the closure of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem by occupation forces to Christian worshippers for 11 consecutive days, and the storming of the Great Salahiyah Mosque in Nablus, which included a thorough search of all its facilities, including the rooms and roof of the mosque.

The Ministry of Endowments called on the international community and human rights and religious organizations to take urgent action to stop these ongoing violations that affect freedom of worship and threaten the historical and legal status quo in sacred places.
