Palestinian Statistics: Rise in the Industrial Production Index in Palestine

SadaNews - The industrial production index recorded an increase of 5.55% in April 2026 compared to March 2026, as the index rose to 76.68 in April 2026 compared to 72.64 in March 2026 (base year 2019 = 100).

Water supply activities, sewage activities, and waste management and treatment recorded an increase of 20.69%, with a relative importance of 1.84% of total industrial activities.

Moreover, manufacturing activities registered an increase of 7.00% in April 2026 compared to the previous month, with a relative importance of 87.89% of total industrial activities.

As for the sub-activities that have a significant relative impact on the overall index, some manufacturing activities recorded an increase in April 2026 compared to the previous month, most notably; the production of other non-metallic mineral products, tobacco manufacturing, food product manufacturing, clothing production, paper and paper product manufacturing, leather and related products manufacturing, chemical and chemical products manufacturing, and textile manufacturing. 

On the other hand, the index recorded a decline in some manufacturing activities, most notably; the production of fabricated metal products except machinery and equipment, the production of basic pharmaceutical products and preparations, furniture manufacturing, and printing and reproduction of recorded media.

Electricity, gas, steam supply, and air conditioning activities registered a decrease of 4.95%, with a relative importance of 7.38% of total industrial activities. 

Mining and quarrying activities experienced a decrease of 3.84%, with a relative importance of 2.89% of total industrial activities.
