SadaNews - The overall producer price index in Palestine recorded a sharp decline of 5.77% during April 2026 compared to March 2026, reaching an index of 216.45 in April 2026 compared to 229.71 in March 2026 (base year 2019 = 100).
The Producer Price Index for Locally Consumed Goods during April 2026
The producer price index for locally consumed goods from local production recorded a sharp decline of 5.90%, reaching 226.75 in April 2026 compared to 240.96 in March 2026 (base year 2019 = 100).
The Producer Price Index for Exported Goods during April 2026
The producer price index for exported goods from local production recorded a sharp decline of 3.47%, reaching 120.35 in April 2026 compared to 124.67 in March 2026 (base year 2019 = 100).
Price Movement of Products within Main Activities during April 2026
The prices of goods produced from agriculture, forestry, and fishing, which constitute a relative importance of 29.94% in the product basket, recorded a sharp decline of 10.02%. This is due to the significant drop in prices of goods within fishing activities by 41.21%, and the prices of goods within the cultivation of non-perennial crops by 16.04%. The average price of each of the following was: small chickpeas 244.56 shekels/50 kg, small beans 217.65 shekels/50 kg, dried peas 122.82 shekels/50 kg, dried lobia 322.45 shekels/50 kg, cauliflower 3.14 shekels/kg, spinach 2.11 shekels/kg, tomatoes in greenhouses 6.94 shekels/kg, hot green peppers 14.46 shekels/kg, sweet green peppers 5.32 shekels/kg, molokhia 9.91 shekels/kg, cucumbers in greenhouses 3.90 shekels/kg, zucchini 5.30 shekels/kg, eggplant 6.74 shekels/kg, okra 44.22 shekels/kg, green beans 7.65 shekels/kg, green lobia 7.21 shekels/kg, dried onions 2.37 shekels/kg, potatoes 2.74 shekels/kg, and dried garlic 7.17 shekels/kg, despite the rise in average prices of: melons 2.60 shekels/kg, cucumbers 8.17 shekels/kg, and green onions with leaves 4.98 shekels/kg.
The prices of goods within the cultivation of perennial crops increased by 5.25%, with average prices of: oranges 4.41 shekels/kg, clementines 3.33 shekels/kg, lemons 7.39 shekels/kg, pomelos 5.15 shekels/kg, local peaches 4.09 shekels/kg, and almonds with shell dried 28.89 shekels/kg.
The prices of goods within animal production activities recorded an increase of 0.58%, with average prices of: live local lamb 47.92 shekels/kg, live local goat 40.14 shekels/kg, and eggs 12.96 shekels/dozen (size 2 kg), despite the decrease in average price of live broiler chicken 11.86 shekels/kg.
The prices of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supplies, which constitute a relative importance of 8.23% in the product basket, recorded a decrease of 1.07% during April 2026 compared to the previous month.
Prices for water supply, sewage activities, and waste management and treatment, which have a relative importance of 1.50% in the product basket, also recorded a decrease of 0.27% during April 2026.
Meanwhile, the prices of products from mining and quarrying, which have a relative importance of 1.41% in the product basket, recorded a sharp increase of 4.51% during April 2026 compared to the previous month.
The prices of goods produced from manufacturing activities, which have a relative importance of 58.92% in the product basket, recorded a sharp increase of 2.48%. This is due to the rise in average prices of goods produced within the following activities: grain mill products by 37.89%, basic pharmaceutical products and preparations by 11.46%, concrete, cement, and plaster products by 5.48%, carpentry products used in construction by 2.82%, furniture production by 2.33%, clothing production by 2.18%, glass and glass products by 1.94%, textiles by 1.60%, and meat processing and preservation by 0.87%, despite the decrease in the average prices of goods produced within the following activities: chemical and chemical products by 3.57%, beverages by 2.91%, bakery products by 2.38%, vegetable and animal oils and fats by 0.94%, prepared animal feeds by 0.48%, and fabricated metal products excluding machinery and equipment by 0.47%.
