Giving Hope to 854 Patients in the West Bank and Gaza.. Jerusalem Bank and Thalassemia Patients' Friends Association Sign Cooperation Agreement
SadaNews - Jerusalem Bank signed a support and cooperation agreement with the Thalassemia Patients' Friends Association, coinciding with World Thalassemia Day, at the bank's headquarters, in the presence of the bank's CEO, Mohamed Shawar, Dr. Iyad Sunduqah, President of the Thalassemia Patients' Friends Association, and Secretary of the Association, Ms. Jihad Abu Ghosh, and Hazem Aliyan.
The agreement aims to support thalassemia patients in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, numbering 854 patients, by contributing to the provision of iron chelation drugs and necessary medical filters, thus enhancing the quality of healthcare provided to them and alleviating the living and health burdens they face.
Mohamed Shawar, CEO of Jerusalem Bank, confirmed that this agreement comes in line with the bank's vision to support humanitarian and health initiatives that have a direct impact on the community, stating: "Supporting thalassemia patients is a humanitarian and societal responsibility, and we at Jerusalem Bank believe in the importance of partnership with effective national institutions to provide a more dignified and secure life for patients and their families."
For his part, Dr. Iyad Sunduqah, President of the Thalassemia Patients' Friends Association, valued this partnership, emphasizing that this agreement represents an important step in supporting thalassemia patients and enhancing our ability to continue providing their essential needs, especially iron chelation drugs and medical filters, which directly impacts their daily health lives."
This support from Jerusalem Bank comes in light of the general circumstances the community is experiencing, reaffirming its ongoing commitment to its social responsibility and its keenness to stand by the most vulnerable groups, enhancing the resilience of patients in facing health and livelihood challenges.
The Thalassemia Patients' Friends Association, established in 1996, is one of the most prominent non-governmental organizations specializing in supporting and caring for thalassemia patients in Palestine, through its health, awareness, psychological, and social programs, as well as its ongoing efforts to improve the quality of life for patients and their families.
