The Government Call Center Reports on the Most Important Interventions Implemented by the Government Last Week
SadaNews - The Government Call Center issued a report highlighting the most important developmental and reform interventions carried out by the Palestinian government during the past week as follows:
Prime Minister Muhammad Mustafa received the annual report of the Financial and Administrative Control Bureau for the year 2025, and the annual report of the Land Authority, praising the achievement of registering 50,000 dunams, the progress in digital transformation, and the protection of properties, affirming the government's support for enhancing integrity and governance. He also directed ministers to intensify field visits, especially in targeted areas, and to provide resilience resources. He oversaw the signing of an agreement to support the 100-day plan for the Deir al-Balah Municipality, funded by the German government through "UNDP", affirming the government's commitment to support the municipalities of Gaza and their developmental plans.
Internationally, he discussed with the UN Under-Secretary-General, Director of OCHA, the worsening humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip and ways to enhance the delivery of urgent aid, and opened the National Conference for the Bar Association, affirming that reform is a national and sovereign option that enhances citizens' trust and protects rights.
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has completed the construction of a vocational school in Yatta funded by the Korean government at a total cost of $7.0 million, and has begun implementing external works at the Khallat Saleh elementary school in Yatta at a cost of $150,000. It has also opened tenders for supervising the rehabilitation of Bazarriya Secondary School in Nablus, which includes 10 classrooms, and the expansion and finishing of Bayt Dajan Secondary School for Girls in Nablus with 11 classrooms at a cost of $840,000.
As part of strengthening partnership with local bodies, the minister discussed educational needs with mayors from Samu' in Hebron, Salfit, and Atill in Tulkarem, as well as the head of the village council in Anza in Jenin.
The ministry also held a technical meeting with partner institutions to discuss supporting and implementing summer schools in 600 targeted schools and organized a workshop to prepare a strategic roadmap for digital transformation in education. It celebrated, in cooperation with the Cooperation Foundation, the conclusion of the supporting school project for "STEM" education and honored distinguished schools and educational leaders.
The Ministry of Social Development implemented a wide range of social and humanitarian interventions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, providing food and non-food assistance to 11,571 families in the West Bank valued at over 2,328,000 shekels, executing 49,000 food and non-food interventions, and distributing 840 cubic meters of drinking water in the Gaza Strip.
It also executed 56 interventions for women's protection in the West Bank and 6,030 interventions in Gaza, 97 interventions in childhood cases and 80 interventions concerning juvenile issues in the West Bank, in addition to 117 childhood protection interventions in Gaza. A total of 167 orphans in the West Bank benefited from the ministry's services, while 1,497 interventions were directed at orphans in Gaza.
The ministry implemented 68 interventions for persons with disabilities, 9 interventions for the elderly, 89 health insurance services, 33 interventions in the childcare sector, and 82 economic empowerment interventions in the West Bank. Additionally, it executed 56 initiatives supporting charitable associations and voluntary and community work to enhance social protection for the most needy groups.
The Minister of Agriculture participated in the Global Olive Conference in Lisbon with representatives from 46 countries, affirming the importance of protecting the Palestinian olive sector. The ministry also signed investment support agreements with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) under the "MAP II" program with investments exceeding 8 million shekels in 8 governorates. Furthermore, the ministry conducted a field tour in Hebron, observed the conditions of the Ka’abneh Bedouins in Eastern Lebanon following settler attacks, while the national campaign for livestock numbering and vaccination against foot-and-mouth disease continues.
The ministry implemented training programs in partnership with the European Union and FAO benefiting 54 participants in Minya and Beit Fajjar and 40 in Massafer Bani Na'im. In collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) under the "EVAP 3" project, 17 beneficiaries in Beit Kahil and 15 in Deir Sudan were targeted. It concluded training for 15 beekeepers in Deir Abu Mishal, and supervised the Agricultural Relief's distribution of irrigation networks to 18 farmers in Atouf, Tamoun, Tayaseer, and Aqqaba, funded by the Dutch representation. It also executed training in Muthalon in partnership with Oxfam and funding from the Belgian Alliance, and another in Zaatara under the "My Initiative" project in partnership with UNDP benefiting 10 farmers.
The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities is preparing a comprehensive file to submit to "UNESCO" for the inclusion of the Solomon Pools site under the "enhanced protection" system of cultural heritage, thus enhancing international protection for the site. The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities also launched a project to document historical buildings in Dura, south of Hebron, during a tour that included Dura, al-Kum, al-Muriq, Idna, and Samu'. Additionally, a national initiative was launched to develop domestic tourism in the Ramallah and al-Bireh Governorate, and the minister checked restoration projects for heritage sites in Jalbun.
The ministry held meetings to activate the sustainable tourism development plan for the World Heritage Site "Palestine: Land of Grapes and Olives - the Cultural Landscape of the South Jerusalem Terraces, the town of Battir", and discussed establishing a Destination Management Organization (DMO). Meanwhile, the Samu’ Museum continued to implement community activities, and the ministry hosted a delegation in Tulkarem that visited the Ottoman khan, the old town in Anabta, the Burqawi Castle in Kafr al-Labid, and the al-Muntar area in Bal’a.
The Minister of Interior conducted field tours in Jenin, Jericho, the Jordan Valley, and Bethlehem, meeting governors of various governorates and local officials. He also signed an agreement with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) valued at $10 million to enhance Civil Defense capabilities in Jenin and Jericho, and signed the executive cooperation plan with the Netherlands.
He also held a government meeting with the ministers of transportation and local governance to address the issue of vehicle registration and inspections. The police recorded the arrest of 1,223 wanted persons and executed 3,563 judicial warrants, while the Civil Defense carried out 458 firefighting and rescue missions and conducted 864 safety rounds. The customs control department monitored 60 cases and destroyed 60.38 tons of contraband goods.
The Minister of Local Government signed additional allocations worth nearly 7 million euros within the second cycle of the Municipal Development Program - Phase IV, raising the total allocations to 46.98 million euros, supporting infrastructure projects and municipal services in the West Bank that benefit 138 municipalities serving about 2.3 million citizens (70% of the population of the West Bank).
He also signed an agreement with the Korean Agency to implement the Bethlehem Entrepreneurship Center project for the benefit of Bethlehem Municipality and witnessed the signing of an agreement to support the 100-day plan for the Deir al-Balah Municipality.
On the ground, the minister checked the needs of 7 local bodies in Bethlehem Governorate and the Solomon Pools area, while the ministry’s deputy checked the needs of 15 local bodies in Hebron Governorate and inspected the industrial zone in Jamurrah. The ministry also discussed with the Ministry of Transport and Communications the development of public transportation hubs.
The Civil Affairs Authority continued to implement its humanitarian and national interventions through dozens of interventions and coordinations across all governorates, including securing access for high school students, releasing detainees, recovering governmental vehicles, facilitating citizens' movement, and securing maintenance work for electricity, water, and communications networks in Jenin camp, Bartaa, Ya'bad, al-Jabriyat, Awrta, Ain Samiyah, the Bidou tunnel, al-Eizariya, and the al-Makhrouq area near Adum Junction, in addition to following up on the conditions of the Ibrahimi Mosque, facilitating the entry of medicines, medical crews, and agricultural equipment, supporting municipal work, and dealing with fires, contributing to mitigating the effects of Israeli closures and assaults and ensuring the continuity of essential services.
The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics issued the industrial production index report for May 2026, recording a decrease of 1.15% compared to April, and also issued the annual bulletin on hotel activity in the West Bank for 2025, as well as an infographic in both languages in collaboration with the National Population Committee regarding the conditions of the population in Palestine on the occasion of World Population Day.
The Ministry of Industry implemented a series of interventions to support and develop the industrial sector, which included issuing two licenses for establishing new industrial facilities, and two operational licenses for the first time with a capital of 503,500 Jordanian dinars that created 15 job opportunities, in addition to renewing 11 industrial licenses and one quarry license and executing 10 inspection rounds.
Furthermore, 5 certificates for national products were issued, and 4 transactions for validating local added value were completed, along with 44 oversight rounds; managing 3 complaints, destroying 8 tons of products, providing 17 consultations for industrial facilities, and participating in 20 meetings and workshops, while following up on the transition of 8 facilities to alternative energy and updating technologies and digital transformation in 7 facilities.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates held a series of meetings with the Chairperson of the Executive Board of UNESCO and the heads of regional groups and the Arab group in the organization, to discuss the protection of cultural heritage, education, and Palestinian journalists, and to support the inclusion of the town of Sebastia on the list of World Heritage Sites in Danger, emphasizing the importance of protecting sacred places and Palestinian heritage.
She also discussed with her British counterpart the necessity of taking more decisive actions to end the occupation and stop Israeli violations. The ministry's Deputy for Political Affairs held an expanded meeting with the participation of more than 19 ministries and national institutions to enhance cooperation with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and received a German parliamentary delegation with whom he discussed political and humanitarian developments and the challenges facing the Palestinian people.
The Ministry of Justice signed a cooperation agreement with Hebron University in the field of forensic medicine. The ministry also launched the procedural guide for aligning Palestinian legislation with international treaties, as a step to enhance the rule of law, justice, rights, and freedoms.
The Minister of Justice discussed with the Ambassador of the Netherlands the latest political, legal, and humanitarian developments, especially in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, as well as the financial challenges facing the justice sector.
As part of the digital transformation, the ministry launched a digital verification platform for justice services and conducted an awareness campaign for it, to enable citizens and institutions to instantly verify the validity of several documents and services, including certificates of no criminal record, certified transactions, and licenses for arbitrators, translators, and accredited experts.
The Ministry of National Economy implemented a package of measures to enhance consumer protection and facilitate commercial services, carrying out 78 inspection rounds covering 502 commercial stores, seizing 7.5 tons of non-compliant materials, and destroying 123 tons of unfit materials, while holding 30,285 kg pending completion of procedures. The ministry also processed 26 complaints from citizens, issued 7 warnings, and obtained 12 commitments to rectify violations, referred two violators to the Public Prosecution, and took samples for laboratory testing, carrying out 27 follow-ups to ensure violations were rectified.
To facilitate traders' work, the ministry registered 89 new companies and completed 654 transactions in the area of companies, along with 58 import licenses, 37 foreign trade operation cards, 35 certificates of origin, and completing 163 transactions of trade with Turkey (import), totaling 293 services and transactions.
In the field of commercial registration, 85 transactions were completed, including registering 42 commercial records, 14 trade names, renewing 13 records, canceling 12 records, and modifying 4 records, while the intellectual property sector recorded 32 trademarks and completed 129 services and transactions.
The Ministry of Labor launched the "Digital HERizon" program to empower female graduates in the fields of artificial intelligence and digital skills in partnership with the Business Women's Forum and UNDP, through 40 hours of specialized training, professional guidance, and job networking. The minister also participated in the graduation of 130 graduates from the Family Rehabilitation College and the Vocational Training Center, emphasizing the importance of developing the training system and linking it to the labor market. In Gaza, the Palestinian Employment Fund continued to implement economic recovery projects, signing 79 new employment contracts under the "Path to Economic Resilience" project, bringing the cumulative number to 602 contracts, employing 150 workers in the solid waste management project and collecting and transporting 752 m³ of waste.
In the area of health and safety oversight, the General Administration of Safety and Occupational Health conducted visits to 36 facilities and 201 workers, recording 26 violations and taking 20 actions, and registering 17 work injuries, investigating 11 of them.
The General Administration for Inspection and Labor Protection conducted 106 inspection visits covering 1,304 workers, addressed 5 complaints, provided 77 labor consultations, implemented 4 workshops and 12 awareness meetings to enhance awareness of labor conditions and standards.
The Ministry of Public Works and Housing completed rubble removal and management work at the site of Al-Aqsa University in Gaza City, and coordinated with the Ministry of Health to supply and distribute the crushed rubble to level the roads leading to the central drug storage next to Saad Sayel Hall and the public supplies store, as well as leveling and improving internal roads and yards in the Shifa Medical Complex using crushed rubble, in partnership with UNDP and implemented by the Saudi Cultural Center.
In the West Bank, the ministry completed asphalt paving works to rehabilitate the road connecting the Solomon Pools and Artas in Bethlehem, while the minister discussed with a European Commission delegation support for early recovery in Gaza and infrastructure projects in the West Bank, and informed the Deputy US Ambassador about the ministry's interventions in Gaza and the challenges of project implementation, especially in the classified (C) areas. Tenders were also opened for the rehabilitation of the road connecting Yabroud and Silwad (Phase II) in Ramallah and al-Bireh Governorate, and the rehabilitation of the road connecting Al-Abeidiya and Wadi al-Iraees in Bethlehem Governorate, financed by the Arab Monetary Fund and the Islamic Development Bank.
The Official Gazette Office launched the updated version of the procedural guide for aligning Palestinian legislation with international treaties during a workshop under the auspices of the Prime Minister, with the participation of representatives from governmental institutions, civil society organizations, and members of the legislation alignment committee. The ministry also conducted a two-day legal training on aligning legislation with international treaties, as part of the Anti-Corruption Diploma - Money Laundering Crime track organized by the Anti-Corruption Commission and Al-Istiklal University.
The Energy and Natural Resources Authority continued to enhance the stability of the electricity sector and expand renewable energy, by addressing a malfunction on the high-pressure line in Beit Hanina and removing obstacles that caused power outages in Ramallah, al-Bireh, and northwest Jerusalem, while completing works to ensure stable power supply.
The ministry also implemented projects to provide the village council of Um Safa and the health clinic with solar energy systems to ensure service continuity and held meetings with the municipalities of Sa'ir, Baqa al-Sharqiya, and the councils of Shufa and al-Fandukiya to discuss energy infrastructure development and enhance renewable energy projects in partnership with local authorities.
The Ministry of Transport and Communications continued its campaign to register agricultural tractors free of charge in the governorates of Jenin and Hebron to support farmers, while conducting joint oversight campaigns with traffic police to monitor illegal and non-compliant vehicles.
Additionally, the ministry discussed with several ministries and local authorities the development of electronic connectivity, insurance services, public transport hubs, the opening of new service offices, and met with representatives from the Jalazone camp and the municipalities of Tulkarem and Deir al-Ghusun, participated in the high traffic committee in Hebron, and met with the Driving Schools Association in Nablus. The minister honored driver Muhammad Moussa Abu Khalil for returning a golden contract worth 40,000 shekels. Technical work included the completion of 59 engineering studies and 189 files and technical plans, approving 18 plans for transport facilities, while new roads were established and spatial databases updated, and road data uploaded on the Palestine Geospatial Portal. During the week, 4,999 transactions were registered for drivers and 10,928 transactions for vehicles, including renewals, transfers of ownership, initial registrations, and re-registrations.
The Ministry of Women's Affairs discussed with the Palestine Bank mechanisms to support women's projects, expand funding opportunities for small and medium enterprises, facilitate women's associations' access to banking services, and enhance their sustainability. It also discussed with the Child Care Charity Association in Tulkarem support for economic initiatives directed at women and enhancing their resilience.
The minister also participated in the closing conference of the "Empowering Youth for Civil Participation and Peacebuilding" project implemented by the Women's Affairs staff in partnership with Oxfam, emphasizing the importance of investing in youth capacities and enhancing their role as partners in development, in line with Security Council Resolutions 2250 and 1325.
The Ministry of Culture announced the opening of submissions for the selection of the feature-length international film that will represent Palestine in the 2027 (99th) Academy Awards, and organized a specialized workshop titled "Intangible Cultural Heritage... Guardian of Palestinian Memory" aimed at senior officers in security agencies to enhance cultural and national awareness.
The ministry also executed artistic and cultural activities in Salfit that included "Paintings of Roses", an event about the national song and its impact on honing Palestinian memory and enhancing national identity, as well as a course in soap making to preserve heritage and empower women economically.
In Jericho and the Jordan Valley, a course in crochet art and doll making was organized to support traditional crafts, while in Hebron a discussion session on the novel "Marine Jubelin" was held under the "Culture for All" program. Meanwhile, Nablus hosted the "Guardian of the Threshing Floor" book fair in the old town as part of the Lighthouse Charity Market activities, and the summer camp "Buds of Culture" activities concluded in Jenin with a cultural, educational, and entertainment program to develop children's skills and enhance their knowledge.
The Environmental Quality Authority conducted 44 supervisory and inspection rounds on industrial facilities, followed up on 10 environmental complaints, and granted 3 environmental approvals for industrial projects and solar energy facilities.
The authority also discussed with the municipality of Sa'ir ways to address environmental issues, especially the impacts of quarries and crushers, and highlighted Israeli violations against the Palestinian environment.
Awareness activities were organized by the authority in cooperation with Eco Palestine on the occasion of World Environment Day, in addition to training on the environmental situation and environmental security in Palestine for the members of the security forces.
