Occupation places mobile homes in "Janim" in preparation for the return of settlement there (Video)

SadaNews - The occupation began today, Monday, to place mobile homes in the "Janim" settlement east of Jenin governorate, which was evacuated in 2005. The Israeli government recently decided to resettle in the four previously evacuated settlements.

It is worth mentioning that one of the points of agreement stipulated in the formation of the government agreement between "Netanyahu" and "Ben Gvir" is the return of settlers soon to the four settlements that were evacuated in northern West Bank in 2005, which are: "Janim, Kadim, Sanur, and Homesh." This Israeli plan was known as the "Disengagement Plan," implemented unilaterally, under which the then Israeli government led by Ariel Sharon evacuated settlements and Israeli army camps from the Gaza Strip, as well as the four aforementioned settlements.

-"Janim" was established in 1983, east of Jenin governorate, and included about 30 families, with a total of 100 people living there.

-"Kadim" was established in 1981, located to the east of Jenin governorate, sitting on low heights with a number of caves, covering an area of 332 dunams, and had around 35 families with a population of 165 people.

-"Sanur": located between the villages of Sanur and Jaba, its establishment began in 1987, occupying an area of 68 dunams.

-The fourth and most important settlement is "Homesh," which was established in the early 1980s on the summit of Mount "Qubaybat," which encompasses thousands of dunams mostly owned by the villagers of Burqa. It overlooks at a height of 650 meters above sea level several Palestinian villages and towns and is strategically located amidst three Palestinian governorates: Nablus, Jenin, and Tulkarm. It occupies an area of 923 dunams, housing 70 families, totaling around 200 people.

Since its evacuation in 2005, the controversial "Homesh" settlement has remained a hot point of conflict between settlers and landowners, with landowners continuously attempting to reclaim their land which is supposed to return to them, while settlers have been trying to return to it in one way or another.
