Report: Israel Estimates That Iran Will Not Attack It
SadaNews - Tel Aviv estimates that Iran does not intend to launch an attack on Israel at this stage, despite the ongoing escalation between Washington and Tehran.
This was reported by Israeli Channel 12, which pointed out that estimates in Tel Aviv, including those raised during a meeting held by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday evening, indicate that Iran does not plan to attack Tel Aviv at the moment.
According to the report, there are estimates that there is an "Iranian understanding" that any attack on sites in Israel "would escalate the war and take the currently controlled escalation out of hand."
An Israeli source commented on this, saying: "We all hope that the assessment (in Tehran) is wrong, and that Iran makes a mistake; the Americans know we want to complete our missions in Iran, and they are fully aware of what we want."
He added: "At this moment, the situation is defined, and we are not part of it, and we will not be part of it unless the Americans or the Iranians drag us in," referring to the fact that Tel Aviv's involvement in the current escalation is contingent either on American green light or in response to an Iranian attack.
