Report: Iran Planned to Assassinate Trump in Turkey
SadaNews - Recent reports indicate that Israel warned Washington of Iran's intention to assassinate U.S. President Donald Trump, including statements made by U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee.
Channel 12 reported that "Western intelligence agencies detected Iranian estimates about the assassination attempt on Turkish soil, which prompted the replacement of the presidential aircraft.”
The report mentioned that Iranian officials viewed Trump’s arrival to participate in the NATO summit held in Turkey as a "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," but foreign intelligence agencies warned the Americans in advance.
According to a report published by the "New York Times," Trump left the summit in Ankara last Wednesday on board his old presidential aircraft, rather than the new plane.
According to informed sources, the decision was made based on a special security recommendation from the U.S. Secret Service as a precautionary measure, not due to an actual threat. Meanwhile, subsequent reports claimed that this step was taken based on intelligence information regarding Iran’s intention to assassinate Trump.
According to the same sources, the new aircraft received by Trump from Qatar still lacks all the operational capabilities of the old plane.
According to the newspaper's report, the departure method from Ankara was also unusual; Trump hurried up the old aircraft before accompanying journalists could see him or take photos while he was ascending the aircraft's stairs, contrary to standard procedures. In addition, passengers were asked to open the window curtains before takeoff.
