Water Authority: Water projects in Jenin witness qualitative progress to enhance water supply sustainability

SadaNews - The Water Authority continues to make tangible progress in implementing water project packages in Jenin Governorate, as part of its efforts to develop the bulk water system in Jenin and establish water distribution network systems in the villages of northeastern the governorate.

In a statement issued today, Wednesday, it clarified that the ongoing works in the first and second packages include the implementation of a strategic transmission line approximately 26 km long extending from the Salem connection to the pumping station in Jalma, reaching the regional reservoir in Qabatiya, along with the establishment of the main pumping station and a regional water reservoir with a capacity of 6,000 cubic meters, which enhances the stability of water supply in the region.

In this context, excavation and technical preparations continue at the site of the pumping station in Jalma, in parallel with the preparations for installing the transmission line, while the regional reservoir project in Qabatiya has entered the actual implementation phase through site preparation and the development of executive plans.

The third package is also witnessing progress in the execution of distribution networks, which includes the construction of a reservoir with a capacity of 1,000 cubic meters, and a pumping station in Deir Abu Da'if, in addition to the implementation of water networks and elevated reservoirs with a capacity of 500 cubic meters in Beit Qad and Arabuna, with progress in excavation works, extensions, and technical preparations.

The Water Authority affirmed that this progress reflects the accelerated pace of implementing vital projects, contributing to improving supply efficiency, increasing the quantities of available water, supporting the resilience of citizens, and enhancing development in Jenin Governorate.
