Wafa Concludes Its Relief Programs in Ramadan This Year
SadaNews - The Wafa Foundation for Development and Capacity Building announced the conclusion of its relief programs for the blessed month of Ramadan, which came in response to the increasing humanitarian needs in both the Gaza Strip and the villages and camps of the West Bank, with generous support from its partners from international organizations and charitable associations.
During the holy month, the foundation implemented a comprehensive package of qualitative humanitarian interventions, including the distribution of food parcels, shopping vouchers, Eid clothing, as well as the preparation and distribution of hot iftar meals, and the provision of clean water, baby milk, and tents, in addition to sponsoring thousands of orphans, thus enhancing social protection for the most vulnerable groups.
Throughout the days of Ramadan, the foundation's teams continued their intensive field work in the Gaza Strip, where thousands of hot iftar meals were distributed daily to displaced families, amidst extremely complicated humanitarian conditions, which contributed to alleviating their daily suffering and bolstering their resilience.
The response also included the distribution of thousands of food parcels and vegetable boxes to displaced families in the camps inside the Gaza Strip, along with affected families in the West Bank camps, which contributed to supporting food security for the targeted families during the blessed month.
In the context of empowering families and enhancing their dignity, the foundation distributed thousands of shopping vouchers to poor, affected families and orphans in the West Bank, with a special focus on the camps in the northern West Bank, allowing these families to meet their basic needs according to their priorities.
Despite the challenges and field constraints, the foundation's teams succeeded in implementing iftar meal distribution programs for fasting individuals in the Old City of Jerusalem and around the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque in the early days of the holy month, a step that reflects the foundation’s commitment to reaching deserving groups in various areas.
These programs were implemented in coordination and close cooperation with the relevant ministries of the Palestinian government and in partnership with the relevant authorities and local committees in the camps, ensuring efficient implementation, equitable distribution, and enhancing principles of transparency and accountability.
In this context, the foundation affirmed that these interventions come within the framework of its humanitarian mission and its ongoing commitment to support the most needy groups and enhance their resilience in facing exceptional circumstances, while appreciating the trust of its partners and supporters, whose contributions have had a significant impact on the success of these programs and reaching thousands of beneficiaries.
