Foundation Stone Laid for the Icon Water Park Project in Jericho
SadaNews - The Governor of Jericho and the Jordan Valley, Dr. Hussein Hamayel, and the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Dr. Hani Al-Hayek, laid the foundation stone for the Icon Water Park project in the city of Jericho, executed by AL-JABER Investment Company, in the presence of the Deputy Mayor of Jericho, Fathi Barhamah, the General Manager of the Jericho Gateway Real Estate Investment Company, Muhammad Al-Zamareh, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Jaber Investment, Gandhi Jaber, and the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, Taysir Al-Yasini.
Dr. Hamayel confirmed that this project embodies a developmental vision aimed at enhancing Jericho's position as a promising tourist and investment destination, pointing out the importance of partnership between the public and private sectors in supporting the local economy and providing job opportunities for the residents of the governorate.
Dr. Hamayel indicated that the governorate is keen to support investment projects and remove all obstacles, assuring complete readiness to follow up on investors' issues and facilitate their work in coordination with the Jericho municipality and relevant authorities, stressing that any investor facing difficulties can refer directly to the governorate, affirming that investment in Jericho represents a national duty in an environment filled with challenges and that the governorate will remain a support for every project that contributes to enhancing economic development.
Minister Al-Hayek pointed out that the project reflects the ministry's vision to enhance Jericho's status as a leading tourist destination, mentioning that the project represents a qualitative addition to the tourism sector in the governorate and reaffirming the ministry's commitment to supporting all projects that develop the tourism sector and enhance Jericho's status as a comprehensive tourist destination.
The financial advisor to Al-Jaber Company confirmed that the project comes within the framework of an ambitious investment vision to enhance the tourism and entertainment sectors in Palestine, where it is expected to stimulate economic activity and create about 500 direct and indirect job opportunities, with a capacity to accommodate up to 10,000 visitors upon completion of all its phases.
He added that the project was designed in collaboration with Palestinian, Arab, and international engineering offices according to the highest international standards to be a modern tourist destination that attracts visitors from various governorates and abroad.
Barhamah confirmed that the project represents a qualitative shift in the tourism and services sector in the city, noting that the municipality will continue to provide all necessary support and facilities to ensure the project's success and prosperity, emphasizing the importance of enhancing cooperation between official bodies and investors to develop infrastructure and improve services for the benefit of citizens and visitors.
Al-Yasini affirmed that the project drives the economic wheel and contributes to enhancing economic development, infrastructure, and services in Jericho, asserting the chamber's readiness to provide all support and assistance to investors to ensure the success of development projects in Jericho.
