Increase in the Industrial Production Index in Palestine by 3.39% during 2025

SadaNews - The Central Bureau of Statistics reported that the index of the industrial production quantities in Palestine recorded an increase of 3.39% during the year 2025 compared to the year 2024, with the general index of industrial production quantities reaching 82.72 during 2025 compared to 80.01 during 2024 (base year 2019 = 100).

In terms of the main activities that make up the index, the manufacturing industries recorded an increase of 4.48%, and the activities of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply recorded an increase of 3.22%. Meanwhile, the activities of water supply, sewage treatment, and waste management registered a sharp decline of 22.67%, and mining and quarrying activities experienced a decrease of 2.60%.

Additionally, the index of industrial production quantities recorded a decline of 1.03% during December 2025 compared to November 2025, as the index dropped to 83.50 in December 2025 compared to 84.37 in November 2025 (base year 2019 = 100).

Mining and quarrying activities showed a decrease of 3.28%, which has a relative importance of 2.89% of total industrial activities.

Furthermore, the manufacturing activities recorded a decrease of 2.82% during December 2025 compared to the previous month, representing a relative importance of 87.89% of total industrial activities.

On the other hand, regarding the sub-activities that have a significant relative impact on the overall index, some manufacturing activities recorded declines during December 2025 compared to the previous month, including; production of fabricated metal products excluding machinery and equipment, production of other non-metallic mineral products, production of chemicals and chemical products, production of basic pharmaceuticals and their preparations, production of paper and paper products, beverage production, and textile production.

Conversely, the index recorded an increase in some activities, most notably; food production, clothing manufacturing, furniture production, and tobacco product manufacturing.

The activities of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply recorded a sharp increase of 14.87%, which has a relative importance of 7.38% of total industrial activities.

Water supply, sewage treatment, and waste management activities also recorded an increase of 4.68%, representing a relative importance of 1.84% of total industrial activities.
