Mussar for SadaNews: The quantities of gas supplied are within the normal range, but the citizens' rush is the cause of the crisis
SadaNews - Osama Mussar, the head of the Gas Stations Owners Syndicate, told SadaNews that the quantities of cooking gas supplied to the Petroleum Authority are insufficient to meet the high demand seen in the markets, which has led to gas stations in the West Bank running completely out of gas cylinders.
Mussar added that between 400 to 550 tons of gas have been supplied daily over the past week, which is within the normal range, but this has not resolved the gas crisis. He pointed out that this is due to several reasons, including the citizens' rush to gas stations amidst the severe cold and consecutive low temperatures, as well as their fears of the war. Additionally, there was a gas cutoff for 10 days during the previous period, which depleted the reserve stocks that were relied upon along with the daily supply quantities to meet market demand.
He confirmed that the current supply volume to the Petroleum Authority is considered low compared to the high demand for gas, noting that this quantity was sufficient to meet citizens' needs under normal circumstances.
He stressed that the gas crisis is on its way to being resolved, in light of the ongoing efforts being made to increase the quantities of gas supplied to the Palestinian Petroleum Authority in the upcoming period.
