Palestinian Islamic Bank and An-Najah National University Conclude the "Waeed" Training Program
SadaNews - The Palestinian Islamic Bank and the Faculty of Business and Communication at An-Najah National University have concluded the specialized training program "Waeed," which included 33 male and female students from the faculty and was presented by a group of bank managers. The program aimed to equip participating students and prepare them for entry into the labor market, enhancing their professional readiness in the banking sector.
The participating students in the program were graduated in a ceremony held at the campus of An-Najah National University, attended by the General Manager of the Palestinian Islamic Bank, Dr. Imad Al-Saadi, the head of the Sharia Supervisory Board at the bank, Dr. Alaa Razei, the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Communication, Dr. Raafat Al-Jallad, along with several bank managers and academic staff from the faculty.
The program included 10 intensive training sessions that addressed various topics that contribute to the enhancement of the skills required of participating students in the banking labor market, with particular attention to concepts and applications of Islamic banking. Students received practical and theoretical training covering the banking work environment, mechanisms for providing banking services, communication skills, cybersecurity, compliance, marketing and sales skills, and the importance of human capital, in addition to familiarizing themselves with financial products compliant with Islamic law.
Dr. Imad Al-Saadi, General Manager of the Palestinian Islamic Bank, stated that the program comes as part of the bank's commitment to its community role and its keenness to invest in youth, enabling university students to acquire practical skills that qualify them to engage efficiently in the banking labor market, especially in the field of Islamic banking.
Al-Saadi added: "The 'Waeed' program and other training programs we implement align with our strategic plan, which places significant emphasis on empowering youth and supporting applied education and knowledge dissemination. Our role extends beyond providing banking services or achieving financial sustainability; it includes actively contributing to preparing qualified national cadres capable of contributing to the development of vital sectors, in addition to building effective partnerships with Palestinian academic institutions."
Al-Saadi praised the efforts made by the Faculty of Business and Communication at An-Najah National University to make this training program successful, pointing out that the partnership between the bank and the university serves as a model to be emulated in collaboration between academic institutions and the banking sector.
Dr. Alaa Razei, Head of the Sharia Supervisory Board at the Palestinian Islamic Bank, stated that the "Waeed" program contributes to enhancing participating students' knowledge about Islamic banking in Palestine, its principles, and the most prominent products and services it offers by linking academic aspects with practical application in a real banking environment, affirming the importance of the topics addressed in the program to prepare students to compete for available opportunities and engage in the labor market.
For his part, Dr. Raafat Al-Jallad emphasized the importance of launching such training programs by the Faculty of Business and Communication, due to their pivotal role in expanding students' professional horizons and enabling them to gain direct insight into practical experiences in leading national banking institutions, thereby enhancing their readiness and competitive ability in the labor market. He pointed out that these programs represent a fundamental pillar in the college's vision of preparing graduates who possess professional competence and the ability to meet the evolving labor market requirements.
Al-Jallad valued the partnership with the Palestinian Islamic Bank, expressing his gratitude and appreciation to the bank's management and staff for their remarkable efforts in making the "Waeed" program successful, confirming that this partnership aligns with the university's vision of building genuine strategic partnerships with effective national institutions. He added that the program serves as a practical model for linking academic knowledge with field application through its specialized training topics that reflect the essence of modern banking work and contribute to preparing qualified banking cadres for the future.
