Palestine and Germany Sign Agreement of 8 Million Euros to Develop Sewage System East of Nablus

SadaNews - The Palestinian government has signed an additional funding agreement for the sewage project in East Nablus, funded by the German government through the German Development Bank (KfW), with a value of 8 million euros, to implement a project aimed at developing and managing the sewage system in East Nablus and the eastern villages.

Thus, the total funding from the German government for the project rises to 43.8 million euros, knowing that the European Union also contributes additional funding for the project through the German Development Bank (KfW) amounting to 17.1 million euros.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Finance today, Wednesday, the agreement was signed on behalf of the Palestinian government by Minister of Finance and Planning, Istifan Salama, while Judith Etzler, a representative of the German Development Bank (KfW), and Arne Goss, the bank's office director in Ramallah and Al Bireh, signed on behalf of KfW. The signing was attended by the head of the Palestinian Water Authority Zeiad Al-Maimi and the Mayor of Nablus, Hossam Al-Shakhsheer, as the implementing and benefiting entity of the project.

The implementation of the project will extend over five years, contributing to enhancing the infrastructure of the water sector and improving the environmental and health services provided to citizens.
