SadaNews - Scholar Raghad Dweikat from the Department of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at An-Najah National University won first place in the Best Young Researcher Award at the International Scientific Conference for Graduate Students in Health Sciences and Pharmacy (InCHaP 2025), which was held in Kuala Lumpur from November 10 to 12, 2025.

The conference brought together students from various disciplines and universities in Malaysia, Japan, China, India, and the Philippines, aiming to enhance academic communication and exchange knowledge and ideas in various fields including clinical health, public health, innovation in digital health, rehabilitation, and biomedical sciences.

This conference is held biennially under the auspices of the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education, organized by The National University of Malaysia (UKM), which is the second university in Malaysia and ranked 126th globally according to the QS ranking, in international partnership with Osaka Metropolitan University in Japan.

Dweikat presented during the conference a presentation that included some results of her master's research, which is currently under review for publication. This research focused on studying the vocal health of faculty members in Palestinian universities and comparing it with the results of research conducted on school teachers, as a preliminary point for building and developing a comprehensive educational unit based on evidence to educate and train faculty members on strategies for maintaining and enhancing vocal health in the university work environment.

The award was granted based on the quality of the presentation and scientific discussion among participating students, as well as the questions and constructive discussion from the judging panel, which included a selection of international expert specialists, in addition to the research and academic achievements of the students during their studies.

This conference provided me with a valuable opportunity to network, exchange experiences, and receive feedback from international experts, which will significantly contribute to the development of my research and enhance my future academic career.

Raghad Dweikat expressed her sincere gratitude and appreciation to The National University of Malaysia (UKM) and An-Najah National University, specifically mentioning the Department of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology, for their continuous support and the opportunity provided for her to pursue her research path. She added: "This support has had a significant impact on enhancing my academic and scientific ambitions, and I hope that the results of my research contribute to the development of knowledge and provide a real addition to the field of vocal health and audiology and speech sciences."
