According to the QS Arab Rankings.. An-Najah National University is the First in Palestine in Academic Reputation, International Research Networking, and Research Productivity

SadaNews - Under the patronage of Sultan Qaboos University in Oman, with wide participation from university presidents and higher education leaders in the Arab world, as well as quality officials, scientific research, and academic rankings in the Arab region, the QS Arab University Rankings Conference for 2026 concluded its activities on October 16, 2025. The conference presented the latest developments in regional ranking methodologies and mechanisms to enhance competitiveness and innovation in Arab higher education institutions.

An-Najah National University was represented at the conference by Professor Walid Suweilat, Dean of Scientific Research and Rankings, and Engineer Anan Al-Aghbar from the President's Office.

The ranking results showed that An-Najah National University ranked first among Palestinian universities in several important QS criteria including: academic reputation, international research networking, and research productivity per faculty member. Additionally, the university advanced one rank compared to its result from the previous year, despite 51 new universities entering the ranking, reflecting its strong academic position and the development of its research and institutional performance.

It is noteworthy that this result continues the university's leading position in various global rankings, including being ranked first in US News rankings, the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, the Times Higher Education Sustainability Rankings, the QS Sustainability Rankings, the Webometrics ranking, the Green University Rankings, the Arab Universities Union ranking, among others.

This regional ranking follows the global ranking results from QS, announced about four months ago, which also saw a significant improvement in An-Najah National University's international standing.

The university continues its efforts to enhance its academic and research position through opening up to international partnerships, supporting scientific publishing, and developing an educational and research environment that meets global standards in higher education.

On this occasion, Dr. Abdul Nasser Zaid, the university president, commended this distinction and progress for the university, emphasizing that it is clear evidence of the importance of the strategic plans being pursued by the university in all areas, leading to the enhancement of its position among Palestinian and global universities.
