
The Union of Small and Micro Lending Companies "Sharaka" Elects a New Board of Directors
SadaNews - The Union of Small and Micro Lending Companies "Sharaka" held its ordinary general assembly meeting on 6/10/2025, with the aim of electing a new board of directors for the upcoming term, in the presence of the members of the union's general assembly, a representative from the Ministry of National Economy, and a representative from the Palestinian Monetary Authority. The elections were conducted in accordance with the provisions of the union's internal regulations.
The election results led to the formation of the new board of directors as follows:
Anwar Al-Jiouzi – Representative of Faten for Lending and Development – President of the Union
Rasha Qawasmi – Representative of Asala for Development and Lending – Vice President
Hossam Mahmoud – Representative of Al-Reef for Microfinance Services – Treasurer
Jamal Odeh – Representative of Al-Zaytouna for Islamic Financing – Secretary
Ali Faroun – Representative of the Palestinian Banking Corporation – Board Member
Samir Barghouti – Representative of Akad for Financing and Development – Board Member
Amer Hadmi – Representative of Vitas Palestine – Board Member
Saddam Odeh – Representative of Creative Palestine – Board Member
UNRWA - Microfinance Department - Observer Member
The union reaffirmed "the importance of the pivotal role played by small and micro lending institutions in enhancing financial inclusion, empowering marginalized groups, and effectively contributing to driving economic and social development in Palestine".
The union also thanked the previous board members, "in appreciation of their efforts during their term", and wished the new board "success in serving the sector and achieving the public interest".
