Construction Costs in the West Bank Show Decline in August 2025

SadaNews - Decline in the Construction Cost Index for Residential Buildings

The costs of building residential buildings in the West Bank recorded a decline of 0.24% during August 2025 compared to July 2025; the construction cost index for residential buildings dropped to 120.60 from 120.89 in the previous month (base year 2013=100).

At the level of main groups, the prices of raw materials and commodities group decreased by 0.41%, while the rental equipment group recorded a slight decrease of 0.03%. In contrast, the costs and wages of labor group remained stable during August 2025 compared to the previous month.

Decline in the Construction Cost Index for Non-Residential Buildings

The construction costs for non-residential buildings in the West Bank recorded a decline of 0.24% during August 2025 compared to July 2025; the construction cost index for non-residential buildings dropped to 119.43 compared to 119.72 in the previous month (base year 2013=100).

At the level of main groups, the prices of raw materials and commodities decreased by 0.41%, while the rental equipment group noted a slight decrease of 0.04%. Meanwhile, the costs and wages of the labor group remained stable during August 2025 compared to the previous month.

The construction costs for skeleton buildings in the West Bank recorded a decline of 39.0% during August 2025 compared to July 2025; the construction cost index for skeleton buildings fell to 117.62 from 118.08 in the previous month (base year 2013=100).

At the level of main groups, the prices of raw materials and commodities fell by 0.63%, and the rental equipment group recorded a slight decline of 0.03%, while the costs and wages of labor remained stable during August 2025 compared to the previous month.

The costs of building roads of various types in the West Bank recorded a decline of 0.12% during August 2025 compared to July 2025; the overall road construction cost index fell to 114.45 from 114.59 in the previous month (base month December 2008=100).

At the level of main groups, the prices of raw materials and commodities recorded a decrease of 0.16%, and the rental equipment group noted a decline of 0.15%, while the operating and maintenance costs of equipment rose by 0.17%, and the costs and wages of labor remained stable during August 2025 compared to the previous month.

Decline in the General Index of Costs for Water Network Construction

The costs of constructing water networks in the West Bank recorded a decline of 1.13% during August 2025 compared to July 2025; the construction cost index for water networks dropped to 128.79 from 130.26 in the previous month (base month January 2010=100).

In terms of water network prices, the index decreased by 1.24%, dropping to 135.20 from 136.90 in the previous month, and prices for water storage tanks fell by 0.83%, with the index dropping to 114.68 from 115.64 in the previous month.

Decline in the General Index of Costs for Sewage Network Construction

The costs of constructing sewage networks in the West Bank recorded a decline of 0.71% during August 2025 compared to July 2025; the index fell to 117.34 from 118.18 in the previous month (base month January 2010=100).
