
Mustafa Inspects the Ministry of Communications to Monitor the Implementation of the Digital Transformation Initiative
SadaNews Economy - Prime Minister Muhammad Mustafa confirmed that "digital transformation is not merely a technical issue but a strategic one, a mechanism and means to shift our economy from traditional to digital, capable of global competition, and to transform human capacities into creative and systematic energies in all fields."
This came during his inspection visit to the headquarters of the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy today, Monday, in Ramallah, to monitor the progress of the digital transformation initiative. During the visit, he met with Minister Abdul Razzaq Netsha and the ministry's staff, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Cabinet, Duwas Duwas, Director of the Executive Office for Development and Institutional Reform, Muhammad Al-Ahmad, and Director of the Government Communication Center, Muhammad Abu Rab.
The Prime Minister praised the ministry's efforts and numerous achievements, extending, on behalf of His Excellency the President and the government, congratulations on the decision to elevate the representation of the State of Palestine in the Universal Postal Union and grant it broader privileges as an observer.
Mustafa commended the efforts of the Ministry of Communications, institutions, and companies that have been made to continue communication services in the Gaza Strip as much as possible, which alleviated burdens on our community in the sector and contributed to providing some services to convey the image to the world.
The Prime Minister called for more achievements in the upcoming period, considering that the year 2026 is the year for implementing the Palestinian vision of embodying the state on the ground, and working to implement the New York Declaration, which will culminate in many recognitions of the Palestinian state.
For his part, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy confirmed that digital transformation will be a key tool for developing important services for citizens, noting that work is underway to increase the efficiency of the infrastructure and achieve a qualitative leap in 4G and 5G services.
The Prime Minister learned from the Minister of Communications and the ministry's staff about the ministry's efforts and numerous achievements in developing services and infrastructure for digital transformation and updating digital systems in ministries and institutions, in addition to the many programs being worked on, the most important of which is an ambitious cooperation program with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to develop the institutional digital environment on both sides, and a training program that has benefited 116 Palestinian companies operating in the technology sector, which contributed to opening new markets for them in several countries, in addition to an ongoing program supported by the World Bank for cloud computing, and the establishment of a data center that provides various services to all government and private sector institutions.
