
Partnership Meets with UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process (UNESCO)
SadaNews - The Union of Micro and Small Lending Companies "Partnership" held a meeting today at the Union's headquarters with Dr. Ramzi Al-Akbarov, the UN Deputy Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process (UNESCO), attended by a number of representatives from member institutions of the Union and officials from UNESCO's office.
During the meeting, Anwar Al-Jayyousi, the head of the Union, reviewed the state of the micro-lending sector in Palestine and its role in enhancing economic empowerment for marginalized groups, along with the challenges faced by lending institutions under the current economic conditions.
The Union representatives emphasized the importance of supporting this vital sector through strengthening partnerships with international institutions, which contributes to expanding access to financing for marginalized groups and areas.
For his part, Dr. Al-Akbarov expressed his appreciation for the role that lending companies play in supporting economic and social development, affirming the United Nations' commitment to enhancing joint cooperation that contributes to stabilizing the Palestinian economy and expanding opportunities for growth and comprehensive development.
