New Fuel Price Increase in Israel Starting Monday
SadaNews - The Israeli Ministry of Energy announced today, Sunday, an increase in controlled fuel prices effective from midnight on August 31 to September 1, 2025.
The ministry clarified that the maximum price for self-service gasoline at 95 octane will reach 7.16 shekels (including VAT), an increase of 9 agorot from the previous month.
As for full-service costs, it will rise to 25 agorot per liter, which is an additional agora.
In Eilat, where VAT is not charged, the maximum price will reach 6.07 shekels per liter, an increase of 8 agorot, while the full-service cost will rise to 21 agorot per liter.
The director of the Fuel and Gas Administration in the ministry stated that "the price changes this month resulted from several factors, most notably the increase in the excise tax, the decrease in the dollar exchange rate, and the increase in international prices."
She pointed out that the excise tax contributed to an increase of 6 agorot per liter, while international changes and the exchange rate adjustments added another 3 agorot.
She added that the rise in full-service costs is due to the "recently updated minimum wage."
The ministry urged consumers to "compare prices at gas stations," concluding with: "We wish for a fruitful school year and safe travels for every household in Israel."
