
Ministers of National Economy and Industry Brief Salkhit Economic Activities on Measures to Mitigate Economic Crises
SadaNews - The Minister of National Economy, Muhammad Al-Amour, and the Minister of Industry, Arafat Asfoor, met today, Monday, with economic stakeholders in the Salkhit Governorate, with the participation of the Governor of Salkhit, Mustafa Taqatqa, and representatives from the public and private sectors, the security establishment, and the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the governorate.
The governor emphasized the importance of engineering a resilient economy and strengthening the pillars of steadfastness and survival to confront the settlement project and current challenges, reviewing the economic and security realities in the governorate and the Israeli policies that undermine its economy, stressing the need to solidify the integration among all parties.
For their part, the two ministers reiterated that the government is making strenuous efforts to enhance the resilience of citizens and address the financial and economic crisis imposed by the occupation government, indicating that the government is in continuous engagement with the occupation in various fields, working through the governmental emergency room to implement interventions and provide assistance to our people in the Gaza sector.
They noted the importance of joint efforts as a fundamental pillar in strengthening the economy of resilience and social solidarity, and alleviating the severity of crises that are being addressed within the agenda of the Advisory Council of the Ministry of Economy, pointing to measures to alleviate the cash deposit crisis.
The ministers also clarified, during their meeting with the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Salkhit, the readiness to implement the Competition Law which will come into effect before the end of November, pointing to the imminent approval of the E-commerce Law and the Investment Promotion Authority Law, and efforts to gradually replace imported products with national ones. They confirmed the existence of a decision mandating national products in government tenders, in addition to opening new markets for national products and establishing international partnerships, with plans to organize exhibitions soon in Saudi Arabia and Syria.
The ministers provided answers to several issues raised by the stakeholders, including: the cash deposit crisis, the establishment of an industrial zone, supporting the resilience of farmers especially in areas threatened by settlement, alleviating the financial burdens on government employees, preserving the educational process, and activating investment and facilitating procedures.
Minister of Industry Arafat Asfoor emphasized the importance of establishing an industrial zone in Deir Istiya, explaining that about 231 dunams have been allocated as a first phase for this area specialized in wooden and metal furniture manufacturing, and that it is currently in the process of being designated by the Cities and Industrial Zones Authority.
The Minister of National Economy also met with the mayor of Kafr Deek and the mayor of Burqin, and was briefed on their requirements to enhance the resilience of citizens.
