Signing of a "Code of Conduct" Agreement Between the Palestinian Islamic Bank and the Union of Workers in Banks, Financial Institutions, and Insurance

SadaNews: The Palestinian Islamic Bank and the Union of Workers in Banks, Financial Institutions, and Insurance - a member of the General Union of Palestinian Trade Unions - signed a Code of Conduct agreement to enhance a safe and positive work environment.

The agreement was signed by the General Manager of the Palestinian Islamic Bank, Dr. Imad Al-Saadi, and the Head of the Union of Workers in Banks and Financial Institutions, Ahmad Al-Tamiza, at the bank's headquarters in Ramallah.

The Secretary-General of the General Union of Palestinian Trade Unions, Shaher Saad, emphasized the importance of this step in a speech during the signing of the agreement, underlining the need for continual development of relationships between unions and employers, which preserves workers' rights and enhances a positive work environment. He praised the Palestinian Islamic Bank's high commitment to workers' rights and ensuring justice, dignity, and mutual respect in the workplace.

For his part, the General Manager of the Palestinian Islamic Bank, Dr. Imad Al-Saadi, confirmed that the signing of this agreement comes from the bank's commitment to protecting the rights of employees and establishing a healthy professional work environment.

Al-Saadi added: "We take pride in being the first initiative in the banking sector to sign this agreement, which aligns with the internal code of conduct adopted by the bank that preserves employees' rights and ensures a safe and positive work environment. It also aligns with the bank's commitment to supporting equality, justice, and non-discrimination in the workplace."

In turn, the Head of the Union of Workers in Banks, Financial Institutions, and Insurance, Ahmad Al-Tamiza, confirmed that the agreement comes from the union's strategy to build responsible partnerships with private sector institutions that contribute to organizing relationships with them and support principles of justice, professionalism, and mutual respect in the workplace.

Al-Tamiza praised the initiative of the Palestinian Islamic Bank in signing this agreement as the first bank in Palestine, reflecting the bank's commitment to protecting workers' rights and establishing a positive work environment.
The signing of the agreement was attended by the assistants to the General Manager of the Palestinian Islamic Bank, several department directors at the bank, in addition to several members of the General Secretariat of the General Union of Palestinian Trade Unions, and members of the General Union of Workers in Banks, Financial Institutions, and Insurance.
