Jerusalem Electricity: We Are Pressing All Possible Means to Avoid Potential Power Outages in Jericho and the Jordan Valley (Video)

SadaNews: The Jerusalem Electricity Company stated in a special statement to "Sada News" that the areas of Jericho and the Jordan Valley may experience power outages today, Wednesday, between six and nine in the evening, due to the inability of the Jordanian side to supply the company with the necessary amounts of electricity, as a result of the significant pressure on the Jordanian network.

The company explained that it was informed this morning about the possibility of these outages occurring, after being asked to reduce loads by half, noting that it is making diligent efforts to pressure the Jordanian side to increase the supply quantity, alongside attempts to pressure the Israeli side, which also refuses to increase the allocated electricity quantities for Jericho, citing high demand for energy amid hot weather.

Jerusalem Electricity confirmed that it is preparing programs for rotating power cuts in case outages become inevitable, so that one area is not solely affected and the cuts are distributed equally among several areas to minimize the duration of the outage for each area as much as possible.

The branch manager of the Jerusalem Electricity Company in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, Engineer Majdi Al-Harbawi, told Sada News: "We emphasize to all subscribers the necessity of conserving energy consumption between six and nine in the evening, and to avoid operating unnecessary devices and to set air conditioning units at moderate temperatures to prevent excessive energy consumption."
