Economic Media Alliance Discusses General Financial Situation in the West Bank and Gaza with the Director of the Government Communication Center
SadaNews - The Palestinian Economic Media Alliance held an extensive meeting with the Director of the Government Communication Center, Muhammad Abu Rab, to discuss the major economic and financial challenges facing Palestine amid ongoing Israeli pressures and escalating monetary crises.
The meeting reviewed a series of economic files with political and financial dimensions, foremost among them the pressures exerted by the Israeli occupation through the policies of its Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, and their direct implications on clearance funds and the outstanding financial dues owed to the Palestinian Authority by the Israeli side. During the meeting, Abu Rab emphasized that Palestinian efforts are inseparable from Arab and international diplomatic movements aimed at supporting the Palestinian political stance to stop the genocide and starvation in Gaza, and pressing for the release of the withheld clearance funds.
The meeting also addressed the liquidity and cash crisis and explored mechanisms to break the complex financial cycle in the Gaza Strip, including organizing the flow of money and reducing the risks associated with the accumulation of shekels or the disruption of cash exchange operations.
Abu Rab reviewed the developments of implementing the national development and growth program, which includes several vital initiatives aimed at enhancing the level of services provided to our people, most notably the initiative to localize medical services, the initiative for the sustainability of local governance bodies, and the energy security initiative.
Abu Rab affirmed that the upcoming stage requires true integration between state institutions and both the economic and media sectors, clarifying that raising awareness among the Palestinian public about the existing challenges and ways to address them is a national necessity to enhance community and official solidarity and strengthen public confidence, ensuring market stability. In this context, Abu Rab proposed holding a monthly meeting with the Economic Alliance to discuss emerging economic and financial issues and coordinate efforts in line with the developments of the stage.
