Palestinian Statistics: Industrial Production Sees Sharp Decline of 9.41% in 2025

SadaNews - The industrial production index recorded a sharp decline of 9.41% during June 2025 compared to May 2025, as the index dropped to 74.29 in June 2025 from 82.01 in May 2025 (base year 2019 = 100).

Movement of industrial production quantities at the level of major economic activities during June 2025 compared to the previous month

The manufacturing industries recorded a sharp decline of 11.38% during June 2025 compared to the previous month, representing a relative importance of 87.89% of total industrial activities.

In terms of sub-activities that have a significant relative impact on the overall index, several manufacturing sectors experienced declines during June 2025 compared to the previous month, notably; the production of fabricated metal products excluding machinery and equipment, the production of other non-metallic mineral products, food production, beverage production, clothing manufacturing, furniture manufacturing, the production of basic pharmaceuticals and their preparations, wood production and wood products, leather production and related products, textiles, and paper production and paper products.

On the other hand, there was an increase in the tobacco products manufacturing activity.

Water supply and sewage activities, as well as waste management and treatment activities, also saw a sharp decline of 10.96%, which holds a relative importance of 1.84% of total industrial activities.

Mining and quarrying activities recorded a sharp decline of 4.51%, which holds a relative importance of 2.89% of total industrial activities.

Meanwhile, the activities of electricity, gas, steam supply, and air conditioning saw a sharp increase of 6.81%, representing a relative importance of 7.38% of total industrial activities.
