SadaNews - A workshop was held today, Monday, organized jointly by the Palestine Exchange, the Financial Follow-up Unit, and the Capital Market Authority in Ramallah, titled "Enhancing Anti-Money Laundering Procedures and Mechanisms in Securities Companies".
The meeting, attended by representatives from all the organizing entities and brokerage firms, aimed to enhance understanding of the sound mechanisms and procedures followed in the Palestinian securities sector to combat money laundering, review strengths and weaknesses, and come up with specific recommendations to bring about qualitative changes in this field to ensure compliance with locally and internationally approved regulations and laws.
The workshop featured extensive discussions and significant interaction from the attendees, resulting in understandings that directly contribute to enhancing supervisory operations and increasing effectiveness in combating money laundering crimes in the Palestinian securities sector, while keeping pace with the best practices followed at the regional and global levels in this field.
