During a meeting with the Private Sector Coordinating Council, Mustafa emphasizes the importance of uniting efforts to overcome challenges

SadaNews Economy - Prime Minister Mohammed Mustafa emphasized the importance of uniting the efforts of all components of Palestinian society to overcome the challenges and difficult conditions faced by the national cause and the Palestinian people due to the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip, and the aggression of the occupation and settlers in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.

This came during his meeting with representatives of the Coordinating Council for Private Sector Institutions, today Tuesday in his office in Ramallah, and via video with the participation of several council members in Gaza, in the presence of a number of ministers, government officials, and economic experts.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister reviewed the impact of the ongoing aggression of the occupation and its measures such as the detention of clearance funds and deductions from them, along with the obstacles to the movement of goods and individuals at the crossings, on our national economy, employment sectors, taxes, and public finances.

Mustafa also reviewed the developmental initiatives and reform measures implemented by the government and those being worked on, whether in terms of financial settlements and procedures to protect public funds, settling the accumulated debts of some companies and local authorities, combating tax and customs evasion and illegal trade, addressing the healthcare file, in addition to digital transformation and offering electronic services and electronic payment.

The Prime Minister referred to the plan and matrix of legislation and laws approved by the government and those currently being worked on, which will directly impact the enhancement of the national product and stimulate the national economy, as well as the renewable energy sector, local authority elections, reviewing public debt, and preparing for the issuance of sovereign bonds to provide financial resources as one of the possible solutions for paying off debts to suppliers and employees.

The Prime Minister listened to testimonies from attendees in Gaza via visual communication about the difficult reality faced by the families due to famine, and the measures that should be taken to prevent exploitation with the participation and follow-up of the Governor of the Palestinian Monetary Authority, Yahya al-Shanar.

For his part, Ibrahim Barham, Secretary of the Coordinating Council for the Private Sector, confirmed the integration between the private sector and the government to overcome the plans and measures of the occupation aimed at undermining the work of Palestinian national institutions, and strengthening the steadfastness of citizens in these difficult circumstances to contribute to maintaining our national project, in addition to supporting the government's efforts in implementing its national development and institutional reform program.

Representatives of the private sector also affirmed their support for the government's efforts to combat smuggling and tax evasion, and to preserve public funds, especially in these difficult financial circumstances that necessitate the preservation of vital sectors and securing the necessary financial resources to provide services to citizens.
