Governor of the Palestinian Monetary Authority Holds a Series of Meetings with Counterparts in the United Arab Emirates

SadaNews Economy - Governor of the Monetary Authority Yahya Shinar, Chairman of the National Committee for Combating Money Laundering in the State of Palestine, held a series of coordination meetings with brothers in the United Arab Emirates, starting with a meeting with the Chairman of the National Committee for Combating Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing, Governor Muhammad Bal'ami, and Deputy Chairman of the Committee and Secretary-General, His Excellency Mr. Hamid Al-Zaabi, along with several directors at the Central Bank of the UAE.

Additionally, the Governor held two separate meetings with both Muhammad Al-Nuaimi, Minister of Justice/ member of the Supreme Committee overseeing the strategy to combat money laundering, and Abdullah bin Touq, Minister of Economy and Tourism, member of the Supreme Committee overseeing the strategy to combat money laundering in the United Arab Emirates.

Shinar also visited the headquarters of the Secretariat for Combating Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing in the UAE, which included a meeting with Secretary-General Hamid Al-Zaabi/Vice President of the MENAFATF and directors of the departments and sections in the Secretariat, attended by Dr. Firas Marar, Director of the Palestinian Financial Follow-up Unit, and head of the Palestinian delegation to MENAFATF.

The visit aimed to discuss the current challenges surrounding the Palestinian financial sector with brothers in the United Arab Emirates and the importance of enhancing cooperation and joint coordination to face these challenges.
