Increase in Industrial Production Quantities in Palestine during May 2025

SadaNews - The industrial production quantity index recorded an increase of 3.57% in May 2025 compared to April 2025, as the index rose to 82.01 in May 2025 compared to 79.18 in April 2025 (base year 2019 = 100).

The movement of industrial production quantities at the level of main economic activities during May 2025 compared to the previous month.

Water supply activities and sewage services and waste management and treatment recorded an increase of 5.68%, which represents its relative importance of 1.84% of the total industrial activities.

Manufacturing industries recorded an increase of 4.15% in May 2025 compared to the previous month, which represents its relative importance of 87.89% of total industrial activities.

In terms of sub-activities that have a significant relative impact on the overall index, some manufacturing activities recorded an increase in May 2025 compared to the previous month, most notably; the chemical and chemical products industry, food products manufacturing, other non-metallic mineral products manufacturing, basic pharmaceutical products and preparations manufacturing, leather and related products manufacturing, wood and wood products manufacturing, tobacco products manufacturing, fabricated metal products manufacturing excluding machinery and equipment, beverage manufacturing, and paper and paper products manufacturing.

On the other hand, the index recorded a decrease in some activities, the most important of which are; printing and reproduction of recorded media, textile production, and clothing manufacturing.

Electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply activities recorded an increase of 0.30%, which represents its relative importance of 7.38% of total industrial activities.

In contrast, mining and quarrying activities recorded a decrease of 3.74%, which represents its relative importance of 2.89% of total industrial activities.

Due to the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, all facilities operating in industrial production in the Gaza Strip are halted for work in May 2025.
