The Return Conference ….. The Eighth Fatah Conference
Everyone must understand that Palestine is not just a geography drawn on paper but a mother who, as the bleeding increases, nurses her children with patience. And whenever the world thinks she has been broken, she rises from the rubble, more beautiful and proud, and more convinced that this people was created to return… to return always as if the return itself were written in their blood.
Thus, I say that the upcoming Fatah conference is not just a meeting, but it is the Conference of Return. The return to the spirit of the first Fatah and to that beautiful fire that ignited national awareness in the heart of every free Palestinian, to the movement that wept for their tears and rejoiced in their joy, and bore their pain as if it were the honor of the message.
It is the return to the spirit of the people and to the camp, the village, and the city; to the worker, to the student, and to the mother who hid the key to her old house in her heart and slept on the promise of return; to that simple Palestinian who asked of life nothing but dignity, a homeland, and a flag that does not bow.
It is also a return to the spirit of unity, to the Palestinian heart united, and to the call that says this people deserves nothing but to be one line. And Fatah does not return strong except when it returns to be inclusive, as it always was, and when the true faces of the national movement return to their rightful place at the forefront of the scene and in the consciousness of the people.
It is a return to the authentic faces, to those whose features resemble the soil of the homeland and whose words resemble the oath of the early beginnings, to those who did not trade in pain but carried it as a trust upon their necks; to the faces that the Palestinian street recognizes for their sincerity, their tears, and their history that has never been colored.
In this return, we also move to the cemetery of the heavy phase, where the greatest of deceivers is laid to rest in the dust of forgetfulness after his popular trial, and the tales of the lying Leyla are buried with him, and the illusions of the bride who thought that the usurped ambassador's position would create glory for her and her flesh fall away. The masters and ministers of the lottery follow those who passed over the pain of the people as if it were a game of chance, and over the homeland as if it were a fleeting position. It is not a cemetery of individuals, people, but a cemetery of all the time of illusion and the time that burdened the spirit of the movement, exhausted the people, and prolonged the night of waiting for the free.
And yes… it is also the promise of return without fear and without the illusions of false protection, and with the will of its children only, the children of Fatah and the people. It is the return that does not wait for the shadow of anyone. Because its true protector is its people, its spirit, and its faith that Palestine is guarded only by its people.
But let us be frank; the occupation that stole the land and dignity, overturned time, and expanded the brutal war until it threatened all peaceful Arab nations will not escape the truth. Every restraint, every barrier, and every wall they raise above the chests of people, and every blood that flows in Gaza or the West Bank, is a testament to their failure to break the will of the Palestinian people, their failure to prevent love from being born in our hearts, and their failure to stop the hope for peace in every Palestinian and Arab home.
And it is before everything a return to the path of victories and to a time when Fatah made the action before the statement, and created hope from the heart of the siege, turning tears into a flag and losses into new beginnings.
As for Gaza, it is the heart of this homeland, the conference, and their beautiful, harsh wound. It embodies the meaning of the return, with its pride and steadfastness, and its blood that became an ambassador for Palestine in the conscience of the world, and with its martyrs who restored the sacred meaning to the Palestinian blood, and with its patience that turned pain into a school of dignity. Gaza is not just geography, but the compass that brings Fatah back to its first pulse and to the meaning of sacrifice and the path of victories written in blood and patience together.
That is why I say it as the heart feels it: If this conference matches the pain of the people and their hope, then everyone who reads about it and hears from it will cry and rejoice at the same time. They will cry because Palestine has gone through all this pain, and they will rejoice because Fatah is returning to itself, its people, its unity, and to its truth that is not obscured by the dust of phases.
This is the Conference of Return, the return of the spirit to the movement, the return of the movement to the people, and the return of the people to themselves, to their awareness, to their dignity, and to their homeland which has not and will not abandon its great promise, that Palestine is always free and that it is a message of love and peace for the whole world and for all the Arab nation that suffers just as Palestine suffers, and a love for freedom, a hope for peace, and a belief that love is stronger than any war.
