After Iranian Attack: Flights Suspended and Diverted to Alternative Airports in Kuwait

SadaNews - The Kuwait General Directorate of Civil Aviation announced on Wednesday the suspension of flights and their diversion to alternative airports until further notice.

The General Directorate of Civil Aviation in Kuwait stated that the Iranian attack caused significant damage to several facilities at Kuwait Airport and resulted in injuries.

It added, "The emergency plan at Kuwait International Airport has been activated following the targeting of a building by drones and Iranian missiles."

On Wednesday morning, the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army announced that air defense systems intercepted hostile missile attacks and drones targeting Kuwaiti airspace.

The General Staff explained that the sounds of explosions heard in some areas resulted from interception operations conducted by air defense systems against hostile targets, and it urged citizens and residents to adhere to security and safety instructions issued by the relevant authorities.

In this context, the spokesperson for the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense, Colonel Rakan Saud Al-Otaibi, warned against approaching or touching any debris, shrapnel, or unidentified objects that may have resulted from the interception of hostile aerial targets.

Al-Otaibi emphasized the necessity of promptly reporting any remnants or suspicious objects via the emergency number (112) or through the competent authorities, stressing the importance of following security and safety instructions and obtaining information only from officially accredited sources.

The Kuwaiti authorities have not yet issued additional details regarding the nature of the attacks or the extent of potential damages, while military and security agencies continue to monitor the situation and take necessary measures to protect the country's security and the safety of its inhabitants.
