Launch of the Petersburg International Economic Forum.. Saudi Arabia as Guest of Honor and Artificial Intelligence as Its Main Focus (Video)

SadaNews - The Petersburg International Economic Forum commenced today, Wednesday, with participation from experts and decision-makers from various countries around the world.

The forum will be held from June 3 to 6 under the slogan "Pragmatic Dialogue - The Path to a Stable Future".

Forum Themes: Between Finance, Artificial Intelligence, and Global Chaos

Representatives from over 130 countries and regions, including the United States, Germany, and Saudi Arabia, will discuss pivotal questions related to the changing global system and new avenues of cooperation. Special attention will be given to artificial intelligence issues, not only in terms of its potential but also the risks associated with it, such as the use of "deepfake" technologies.

According to the organizers, this year's forum will highlight the major transformations in the global landscape, emphasizing that solving problems in the context of a growing multipolarity requires equitable interaction based on mutual respect for interests.

The commercial program of the forum is designed around four main themes that reflect the current agenda of the global economy, including:

Issues of automation and applications of artificial intelligence.

Developing logistics chains within the "BRICS" group.

New tools for unconventional assets (digital financial assets).

Demographic issues and measures to stimulate childbirth and institutional support for families.

The central event of the forum will be the general session featuring Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Saudi Arabia as the Guest of Honor at the Forum

Saudi Arabia is the guest of honor at this year's forum, with three of its government members confirming their participation: Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud, Minister of Industry Bandar Al Khorayef, and Minister of Investment Fahd Al Saif.

Russia and Saudi Arabia have maintained close ties for decades, covering the sectors of energy, industry, investment, agriculture, digital economy, transportation, and tourism. Discussions at the forum will revolve around joint projects and cross-border initiatives in the energy sector, technological solutions, as well as cooperation in pharmaceuticals, cybersecurity, and logistics services.

Among the events, a business dialogue session titled "Russia - Saudi Arabia" will be managed by Sergey Gorkov, head of the Russian-Arab Business Council.

Wide International Participation.. America, Germany, and China Present

In addition to Saudi Arabia, representatives from over 130 countries and regions have confirmed their participation, including Azerbaijan, Belarus, Brazil, China, and Thailand. From the Chinese side, Vice President Han Zheng will participate, as announced by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

From the American side, Rodney Cook, president of the Fine Arts Committee, will attend, and two bilateral dialogues organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia and the "Roscongress" Foundation will be held within the commercial program.

From the German side, a "Russia - Germany" business session will be held to highlight the prospects of economic and technological cooperation under current conditions, especially as around 1,800 German companies continue to operate in Russia despite the decline in economic ties.
