National Committee for Strategic Thinking

We understand everyone's preoccupation, both leadership and the public, with the war of extermination and ethnic cleansing and the enemy's attempts to liquidate the national cause. We also appreciate all the official and party efforts from various sectors of the public to shed light on what is happening in the Gaza Strip concerning death, hunger, and the danger of displacement, and in the West Bank regarding settlement and assaults on citizens and the threat of annexation, etc.

However, because I believe in what the late leader Abu Amar said, that the Palestinian people are like the phoenix that always rises from the ashes, and because I am convinced that the enemy will fail in this war against the Palestinian people and that the people will continue to assert their presence and resist the occupation, it is essential to keep a balance between preoccupation with daily concerns and the war's developments on one hand, and long-term strategic thinking that transcends emotions and reactions and addresses war as a situation of open conflict on the other.

Therefore, we assume that there should be a council of sages or a national working group that operates quietly away from the limelight and thinks strategically outside the box about subjects and issues concerning all Palestinians, beyond political squabbles and disputes, and the most important of these issues includes:

1- How can national unity be achieved on new bases, away from the past futile reconciliation dialogues.

2- Ways to confront the occupation's policies in the West Bank and Gaza, and establishing a strategy based on new concepts and definitions for resisting the occupation, learning from the mistakes of the previous phase.

3- How can we maintain the political, identity, and cultural unity of the people.

4- How to correct Palestinian relations with Arab countries and neighboring states.

5- How to preserve positive global popular and international transformations and institutionalize them for sustainability.

6- Restoring the importance of the Palestine Liberation Organization as a representative of all Palestinians and activating it, ensuring everyone's inclusion, especially since the presidential decree 19/7/2025 to conduct elections for the National Council during this year has been undermined and canceled through the first statement of the Preparatory Committee for the National Council Elections on August 7, through the conditions and amendments it imposed for conducting and participating in the elections, making the elections a matter of uncertainty.

7- Preserving the Palestinian Authority and supporting it in facing the enemy's attempts to eliminate its national functional role.

8- Thinking about establishing mechanisms to develop the media system in facing the disinformation and lies campaigns from Zionist media and even Arabic-language satellite channels.

9- Activating civil society institutions and re-localizing them, working to activate all federations and unions at all levels based on national belonging rather than party affiliation, especially since these institutions and unions will play a major role in confronting the occupation in the upcoming phase.

10- How can efforts of Palestinians in the diaspora, who represent half of the Palestinian people, be unified within a national strategy while sparing them the consequences of partisan and ideological divisions, especially since they played a role in popular movements in Europe and the Americas.

We hope that such thinking is present and that there are those who engage in it quietly, and no one should say, "This is not the time for what you are saying; we must focus on the battle!"
