Jordan Announces Interception of Three Missiles Coming from Iran
SadaNews - The Jordanian army announced today, Wednesday, that air defense systems thwarted an incursion into Jordanian airspace by intercepting and downing three missiles originating from Iranian territory, confirming that the operation was carried out as part of the defensive measures in place to protect the sovereignty of the kingdom and the security of its citizens, with no casualties or damages reported.
A statement quoted a responsible military source as saying that "the air defense systems intercepted and shot down, early Wednesday morning, three ballistic missiles that entered Jordanian airspace from Iranian territory," emphasizing that "there were no human casualties or material damages."
The Iranian state television reported on Wednesday that the army and the Revolutionary Guard launched attacks on American targets in Jordan and Kuwait, following the US strikes on Iran.
The Iranian army announced that it targeted the Azraq base in Jordan with drones.
The Azraq area (about 103 kilometers east of Amman) includes the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, which has previously hosted American, German, Belgian, and French forces in the fight against ISIS.
