Governor Hamail receives a ministerial delegation and reviews the needs of Jericho and the Jordan Valley

SadaNews - The ministerial delegation formed by the Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa met today, Sunday, with the Governor of Jericho and the Jordan Valley, Dr. Hussein Hamail. The delegation included the Minister of Labor Dr. Inas Al-Attari, Minister of Women's Affairs Mona Khalili, Minister of Industry Arafat Asfour, and the head of the Environmental Quality Authority Zghoul Samhan, at the governor's headquarters. The meeting was attended by security leaders, the mayor of Jericho Salem Ghourouf, head of the Chamber of Commerce Taysir Hamida, head of the Popular Committee for the Ayn Sultan Camp Yusuf Manasra, director of the Christian Youth Association Samah Al-Nabir, and other official figures in the governorate. The visit followed Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa's previous visit to the governorate and was part of the government's directives to follow up on the needs of the provinces and enhance field communication with citizens and institutions. Dr. Hamail reviewed the reality and needs of the governorate in various sectors, emphasizing the importance of developing infrastructure and main and tourist roads, and enhancing health services, especially speeding up the implementation of the project to build the third floor of the Jericho Government Hospital, in light of the high pressure the hospital experiences due to the large number of visitors and citizens from various governorates. Dr. Hamail confirmed that the governorate, with support from the security establishment, continues to implement the directives of His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) aimed at protecting citizens' rights and safeguarding public, endowment, and private properties. He indicated that the state of security and stability in the governorate is subject to continuous field follow-up and a high level of control and discipline, ensuring the rule of law and reinforcing citizens' resilience. He also addressed the importance of the industrial and agricultural sectors in supporting the national economy, referring to the advancement of the industrial zone in Jericho, and the necessity of providing more support for investment projects and creating job opportunities. The ministers emphasized that this visit comes in implementation of the Prime Minister's directives to directly observe the needs of citizens and institutions and enhance governmental field work, indicating that the government is working on developing employment, vocational training, and rehabilitation programs and creating new job opportunities, which contributes to strengthening citizens' resilience and improving the economic reality. They praised the efforts of government institutions in the governorate, affirming the importance of enhancing integrative work among ministries to serve citizens, supporting programs for women's economic, social, and vocational empowerment, and expanding training, employment, and production project opportunities that contribute to empowering women and their resilience in society. The meeting included interventions from attendees and discussions on various sector needs in the governorate, and the visit encompassed a field tour to the Industrial Cities Authority and a number of factories and productive facilities, in addition to visiting the Jericho Women’s Association and the crossings and borders, to review the realities of work and the needs and challenges in these sectors.
