Iranian-American Memorandum of Understanding Text Still Under Review in Tehran
SadaNews - The Iranian news agency Mehr reported, citing a source close to the Iranian negotiating delegation, that the text of the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States is still undergoing careful review in Tehran, and no official response has yet been sent to the American side.
The source explained that past experiences with Washington, and what Iranians consider a history of non-compliance with agreements, have heightened the sense of distrust and led the Iranian delegation to approach the memorandum with a high degree of rigor and caution.
He added that Washington is concerned about the continuation of the war, while on the other hand, Iranians are worried about entering into an agreement that may not yield tangible benefits for them. He emphasized that past experiences make Iran strive to ensure that any new understanding will result in practical and real outcomes, rather than mere promises that can be overturned.
