Occupation imposes strict measures on Al-Aqsa Mosque and assaults worshippers at its gates

SadaNews - This morning, Thursday, the occupation forces imposed strict measures on the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and assaulted a number of worshippers attempting to reach the dawn prayer.

The Jerusalem Governorate reported that the occupation imposed stringent measures on worshippers in the Al-Aqsa Mosque, aiming to clear it for settlers' incursions during what is called "the compensatory celebration" of the Hebrew anniversary of the occupation of Jerusalem.

It added that the occupation forces prevented men under 60 and women under 50 from entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque since dawn, and also assaulted several men and women physically at the mosque's gates.

Furthermore, the occupation police forced worshippers, staff of the Islamic Waqf Department, and students from the religious school to remain inside the covered prayer halls and buildings, preventing their presence in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque in order to completely vacate it for the intruders.

According to the data, the number of Muslims present inside the mosque, including Waqf employees and students preparing for final exams, did not exceed 150, while the number of intruders during the first hour exceeded 200.
