Poll: Eizenkot and Liberman Together.. Do They Threaten the Rise of Bennett and Lapid?

SadaNews - A new poll has shown a decline in the power of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's camp, as the alliance of Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid has reduced the gap with the Likud party. Data indicates that forming a government may be difficult for Netanyahu, even with the participation of the Haredi parties.

According to a poll conducted by the Israeli Public Broadcasting Authority (KAN 11), the results of which were published on Tuesday evening, the Likud party receives 26 seats, down one seat from the previous poll, while the "Yesh Atid" list headed by Bennett strengthens its position by one seat to 25.

The poll showed that Netanyahu's camp, including the Haredi parties, whose leaders are now questioning the value of their partnership with Netanyahu due to the failure to pass the exemption from conscription law, receives only 51 seats, which is not enough to form a government.

Meanwhile, the Zionist opposition parties only gather 59 seats, lacking a majority to form a government, while the Arab parties, according to the KAN 11 poll, obtain 10 parliamentary seats.

According to the results, the "Yeshar" party headed by Gadi Eizenkot receives 15 seats, and the "Democrats" party led by Yair Golan obtains 10 seats, while both the "Yisrael Beitenu" party headed by Avigdor Liberman and "Otzma Yehudit" led by Itamar Ben Gvir receive 9 seats each.

Additionally, the "Shas" movement secures 9 seats, while the Haredi "United Torah Judaism" list gains 7 seats. The Joint List and the Arab party for change each receive 5 seats.

The poll also examined the scenario of "Yisrael Beitenu" and "Yeshar" running in the elections with a joint list, revealing that the alliance between Liberman and Eizenkot could elevate their representation to 25 seats, making them the second force in the Knesset directly after the Likud.

The results of the poll indicated that this scenario would mainly come at the expense of the Bennett and Lapid list, which could lose two seats if the alliance between Liberman and Eizenkot is formed.

In another context, the poll addressed the stance of Israelis on the appointment of Roman Gofman as head of the Mossad, amidst ongoing discussions in the Supreme Court regarding his appointment.

Results showed that 27% support Gofman's appointment, versus 25% opposing it, while about half of the participants stated that they "do not know" whether they support or oppose the appointment.

The poll revealed a clear division between coalition and opposition voters on the issue, with most coalition voters showing support for the appointment, while a significant portion of opposition voters either opposed it or said they did not have a clear stance.

The poll was conducted on Tuesday and included 557 individuals aged 18 and above, with a margin of error of 4.2%.
