$2.17 Billion in Tourism Income for Jordan Since the Beginning of the Year, Down 10.4%
SadaNews Economy - Preliminary data released by the Central Bank of Jordan indicates a 27.2% drop in tourism income during the month of April 2026, reaching $517.1 million, primarily due to a decrease in tourism income from all nationalities.
In light of this, tourism income during the first four months of 2026 decreased by 10.4%, totaling $2.17 billion, compared to a 15.3% increase to $2.43 billion during the same period in 2025.
Data shows a decline in tourism income during the first four months of 2026 from expatriate Jordanians by 19.5%, from Americans by 17.1%, from Europeans by 13.1%, from Arabs by 3.3%, and from other nationalities by 13.2%.
The data also revealed a decrease in tourism spending by Jordanians and residents abroad during the first four months of 2026 by 12.9%, amounting to $562.6 million, with April 2026 recording a decline of 33.7%, reaching $103.0 million.
Consequently, net tourism income during the first four months of 2026 fell by 9.5%, totaling $1.61 billion.
