Report: An Israeli Document Shows Hamas Manufacturing Hundreds of Shells Monthly and Recruiting Dozens per Battalion
SadaNews - A document recently presented to the political leadership in Israel indicates that Hamas is undertaking a wide-scale reconstruction of its capabilities, including the monthly manufacture of hundreds of explosives, mortar shells, and anti-tank missiles.
This was reported by Israeli Channel 13 in a report on Sunday evening, noting that the document is classified as "top secret" and includes clear and decisive conclusions regarding Hamas's enhancement of its strength in the Gaza Strip.
In addition, the movement is working to gather intelligence on the Israeli army's forces operating in the sector and is conducting field military training, despite the Israeli presence.
Israel estimates that these movements may enhance Hamas's ability to use force and improve its chances in future Israeli military maneuvers.
According to the report, among the conclusions and warnings in the document are:
Initial indicators of Hamas gathering information on the Israeli army's forces in the Gaza Strip.
Hamas recruiting dozens of fighters for each battalion.
Hamas producing hundreds of explosive devices, mortar shells, and anti-tank missiles monthly.
Continued theoretical and practical training, despite the presence of the Israeli army.
Conducting dozens or hundreds of exercises for Hamas since the ceasefire.
Hamas's efforts to enhance and improve its existing infrastructure, with no current plans to dig new tunnels.
Israeli security officials assessed in the same document that "these operations improve Hamas's capability for future maneuvers."
They also noted that "these measures could contribute over the years to enhancing its ability to use force."
Hamas: The Occupation Hinders Any Recovery Efforts and the Return to Normal Life
Hamas stated on Sunday that "the ongoing targeting by the occupation of the police system in Gaza is a continuation of the enemy's crimes and terrorism against our people, aimed at perpetuating a state of security chaos and creating disorder, hindering any efforts for recovery and the return of normal life to the Gaza Strip."
This came in a statement from the movement, hours after an Israeli strike targeted the director of the investigative police in Khan Younis city, south of the Gaza Strip, calling on the international community and mediators and guarantors of the ceasefire agreement to "stop the aggression of the occupation and its daily violations."
It indicated that these violations "have led to the martyrdom of more than 850 citizens since the agreement came into force last October"; it also called for "working to provide necessary protection and relief for the Palestinian people."
An agreement was reached after two years of war that Israel initiated on October 8, 2023, which continued in various forms and resulted in more than 72,000 martyrs, over 172,000 injuries, and widespread destruction affecting 90 percent of civilian infrastructure.
