Netanyahu: It's Possible to Enter Iran and Take Enriched Uranium

SadaNews - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that it is practically possible to enter Iran and take the enriched uranium from there, deeming the extraction of highly enriched Iranian uranium feasible.

Netanyahu addressed the issue of removing enriched uranium from Iran in an interview with the "60 Minutes" program on CBS, stating, "We go in and take it."

When asked how this would be carried out, he replied, "I will not talk about military means, but what U.S. President Donald Trump told me is: 'I want to go in there,' and I believe that's practically possible."

He added, "This is not the problem. If there is an agreement, and we go in and take it, why not? This is the optimal way."

He continued, "I will not provide a specific timeline for obtaining Iranian uranium, but I say it is a highly significant mission."

The Israeli Prime Minister stressed that "the war with Iran is not over, and the enrichment facilities must be dismantled, and the highly enriched uranium must be removed from Iran."

He noted that "there is still work to be done, as Iran still has capabilities, although we have reduced many of them."

Netanyahu indicated that "Iran still has enrichment sites that need to be dismantled, supported proxies, and ballistic missiles it seeks to produce."

Netanyahu's statements came after U.S. President Donald Trump said on Sunday that Washington could continue operations in Iran for another two weeks, affirming that his country would obtain "the buried uranium at some point."

In a related context, U.S. Energy Secretary spoke to CBS on Sunday evening, stating that "the goal is not to remove the enriched Iranian uranium, but to end Iran's nuclear program."

He mentioned that "economic pressure on Iran is currently escalating tremendously."
