Iran Responds to US Proposal to End War and Confirms Readiness of Its Forces

SadaNews - The region is awaiting the outcome of the Iranian response to the latest US proposals aimed at ending the war, after the official Iranian news agency announced that Tehran had sent its response to the Pakistani mediator. It noted that the proposed plan focuses negotiations on ending the war, while Iran confirmed the readiness of its forces following days of sporadic clashes in the Strait of Hormuz, marking the 72nd day of the US-Israeli war on Iran.

US President Donald Trump stated that Washington expects to receive the Iranian response "very soon", indicating that Tehran "really wants to reach an agreement", while he refrained in other statements from delving into further details regarding developments in the Iranian file.

In contrast, Israeli media reported that Trump promised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not to make any concessions regarding the Iranian uranium enrichment issue, amid Israeli anticipation of the US administration's position on the future of relations with Tehran.

Simultaneously, Iranian television quoted the commander of the Aerospace Force of the Revolutionary Guard as saying that Iranian missiles and drones are now directed at US targets in the region, asserting that the forces are "waiting for orders to fire". The Revolutionary Guard also threatened to target US bases and hostile ships if Iranian oil tankers are attacked.

On the diplomatic front, Qatar has intensified its efforts to support the Pakistani mediation, emphasizing during communications with Washington, Tehran, and Islamabad the necessity of reaching an agreement through peaceful means, while Doha stressed that freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz is a "non-negotiable principle", warning of the repercussions of its closure on regional stability and global energy supplies.

In related news, the "New York Post" revealed, citing informed sources, that Washington offered to ease the sanctions imposed on Iran in exchange for halting uranium enrichment and reopening trade navigation routes through the Strait of Hormuz.
